Randy, looks GREAT! Do you plan on running any trim between the two tone?

SEM color coat rattle cans.

I have a roll of the factory look a like chrome molding. Waiting to put it on after we get the lettering down the side (shop truck, have to advertise). I'd rather have the molding on top of the vinyl than have them cut around it. Still waiting on the photoshop picture from the company we are using for it.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

Well, got the glass all in, handles in, doors wired up, new window felts in, grille and bezels in, front bumper on...
On a side note, even though they were darn near free, I'll never try to get these aftermarket grille/bezel combos to fit again. To much time had to be spent trimming on them (God bless the dremel) just to get them "ok".

Still have the interior trim to get on the doors, otherwise all it will lack is the outside trim and mirrors. I still want to wait on the trim and mirrors until the lettering is done. I'm also anxious to see the photoshop of the artwork, but have not gotten it yet.
I would stay and put the trim panels all together, but I am so dirty I really don't want to do trim work now, I'll come back tomorrow and slap those together while I have on clean clothes and my hands/arms are degreased. Plus my allergies are bothering me real bad, almost to the point I feel sick and weak. Gonna go home and just chill for the rest of the day I think.

looking great Randy!!
sorry to hear about the lousy grill...do you know the brand?
I'd hate to have to buy a GM just because of the price....

Bought it through Keystone, was in their wrapper. So no real telling which Kung Pow Nofeat Bawd flavor it is. If I ever hit the lottery I'll toss a GM grille in it, until then the A/M will work. Were it not for the plastic chrome peeling on the other stuff I have, I'd of just painted a set for it. I bet it'd look pretty darn sharp with the inserts painted white.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

And day 3 it sits down at our local Chevy dealership. After getting the truck put back together and driving it a bit, it still is not running right. We had just put new plugs in it before doing the tear down and paint, and had to put a new set in it before I drove it home last weekend. Within a hour of running/drive time it was already starting to run rough, it is getting way to much fuel all the time. Even when my guys pulled the truck in to the service department, they said the writer yelled at them "I could smell that coming from a mile away!".

I did peek in the lot this morning when I came to work, it is in a stall on a rack, so hopefully the guru is getting it sorted. I have not called them once, don't want to pressure them or anything, I just want it running right.

Randy the truck looks great! Are you putting the moulding back on the sides? I can tell you where I got mine. I bought the Trim Gard brand from It is OEM grade and worked great. Ebay Member id: discountaccessories804

I have a new 32' foot roll of the side molding here, as well as 4 new wheel opening moldings. Waiting to get the vinyl lettering installed before trimming it out. Though I might get tired of waiting on them....

Cool, I had to buy it twice because the first roll was a real crappy imitation, there was a reason it was only like $40. I'm sure with you being in the business you know all about the cheap crap out there.

Hope you get the engine problem figured out soon.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

Seen the beast going up and down the road late this afternoon, then got a phone call from the service adviser! Seems the major issue was with the coolant temp sensor. Seems it was not getting a good ground, so the truck thought it was cold 100% of the time. They say they have it running a lot better now and the running rich issue is fixed. Tomorrow he will try and start fine tuning it and get it back to me. So hopefully I can drive it some this weekend.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

Got tired of waiting on the lady doing my vinyls, so we got it trimmed out today. New wheel opening moldings and new side moldings and new mirrors. Sort of wish I could have gotten new corner moldings now for the bed corners.

All in all, has been a long road, but I think we're done. The only thing I have to do is snap on the 4 new caps for the pull straps on the door panels. I'm still holding off on that, to make double dog certain I don't have to go back in the door again for something in the near future.

Have a call in to my window tinter and need to save a few bucks for a spray in liner, then I'll toss a rubber mat in the back. The truck runs like a champ now, the final tune really did wonders. It still smells a little rich, but runs like a top and has not fouled out the plugs yet. *crosses fingers*

I really need to find the phone number of the guy I bought the truck from and send him some photos.
