Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
When it came time to mount the bed on the truck, I was a bit nervous because there was just so much room for error but all the hard work paid off because it fit perfect i was able to tuck the wheels just as I wanted and had plenty of clearance its finally starting to look like a truck again

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Bro I love your truck. From the "valve covers" to the wheel tubs its all awesome. I love a truck that you look at and you know its modified but you can't quite put your finger on what makes it so different. It's an inspiration, even to us 4x4 guys.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I got my paint today it is PPG DBU WA 512Q Jetstream Blue Metallic Tintcoat 3. This is GM corvettes Z06 and ZR1 color. 4 gallons of reducer and 2 gallons of basecoat and 1 of midcoat you reduce with 1-1.25 of reduser so this is alot of material. For the sealer I am using PPG Deltron V-seal. For the clear I will be using Dupont Imron 500s.
I am doing a Corvette inspired theme truck using corvette components such as the engine, breaks, and paint color, so I am oficially calling this project the Z10 I will be making some custom embles to place in the fenders. |

You had to dig deep for all those material! wow! That is a bunch of paint. I guess you already know to be careful with the imron? I have heard about horror stories of guys painting with it. |

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Wut exactly do you mean? ragarding Imron, I herd alot of positive feedback I know it has a very distinctive odor and that it sprays thick but thats a good thing because when u water sand and then buff the clear seems to have depth giving a glass effect. Guys in California go out of heir way to get their hands on this stuff since it got outlawd they either go to Las vegas or Arizona to get it.

By be careful, I mean use proper protective gear. I heard you actually need a fresh air system to spray it. It can cause permanant asthma. Just a carbon cartredge filter isn't sufficient.MSDS MORE |
