Thanks guys for the comments. Its been a long road almost exactly a year since I took the cab off. Still a long ways to go but it feels good to be bolting new and painted parts together

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Thanks Guys for the comments.
So today I got the starter mounted, headers on, core support and radiator mounted. Finished the bodywork on the inner fenders they are ready for some paint. Also started stripping the front grille support. John Z(62 Barnfind) stopped by and we talked trucks for I don't know how long. Thanks for the motivation and ideas John enjoyed your visit. Rolled her out for the first time in awhile. Forgot to take pics of the core support installed. 20150411_143855 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150411_143905 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150411_143917 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150411_143943 by bjohnson388, on Flickr

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Great to meet other guys in the hobby.
I love it when other guys (including Martin, who Nicola says should get his own key cut) visit and we can either talk or play trucks. I love the angle and look of the second to last pic you posted.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Thanks guys.
Went over to 62' Barnfind's(John) and helped him with his door. Took some pics of his truck and also of a 66' he has his eye on. We asked about the 66' but owner wasn't around. This truck is awesome along with all the options it has, still wearing original hubcaps, V8. We lifted the camper top and were greeted by a factory fresh bed. Come to find out the truck is actually Dark Green we thought it was black! I didn't snap a photo of the bed, but obviously has had a camper on their since it was new. It even had both side mirrors which you rarely see. Now if John can just strike a deal on it. 20150501_160336 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150501_160326 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150501_154056 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150501_154046 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150501_154033 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150501_143615 by bjohnson388, on Flickr Also went to see ZZ TOP Thursday what an amazing concert. 20150430_225048 by bjohnson388, on Flickr Been chugging along on mine a lot of little stuff getting painted and put on. 20150418_185348 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150418_185341 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150418_185332 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150418_185329 by bjohnson388, on Flickr

Good to see you back Bret.
I would love a camper shell/canopy like the one above for my truck.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Yes I told John, Rian would kill for this camper shell. It actually was in really good shape to be honest. John said if he bought it he would take it off. Maybe if the stars align you could get. Who knows.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Quote:
Thanks John. Give away my secret I painted them twice. Quote:
Thanks Don. My Father in Law loved them as well. I had their greatest hits album and when I met him he expanded that to all their albums. Tres Hombres and Eliminator are my favorites. So I plugged away on the truck today. Helped the wife and MIL install some metal edging for a couple of hours and then truck time. When I replaced the water pump on the 95' Chevy last week I realized I had forgot to put thread sealant on the water pump in the 64'. So I was working on that today and realized the valve covers were not seating to the heads due to them hitting the Edelbrock intake that has some tabs that stick out. So after about 2 hours of carefully grinding those tabs off and some more off my beautiful new valve covers(I cringed when I did it) I got them seating all the way and buttoned them up and put thread sealer on them as well. You can barely notice where I ground on them. Firewall grommets installed and also cleaned, painted, and installed trans dipstick. After that I got the heater all put back together with a new core and bolted to the firewall. Plus the main brake bracket inside and the inside heater part bolted in. Classic was having a 20% off sale that ends today on purchases over $299. So I took the plunge and ordered the American Autowire Classic Update harness. Saved $110. Even with shipping it came out cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. I am super excited about this as it will keep me busy for the next few months and I will be able to fire and here the engine breathe again! I took some shots from underneath. I still need to put my chrome trans pan on. Little by little getting there. I am ready to put the inner fenders back on now. I have the driver side ready. The passenger side needs the seal glued on. I am still waiting on my firewall pad and front brake lines I ordered from Truckandcarshop on March 27th. They said last week they should be shipping out this coming week. Remember T.J. when I said patience is a virtue. I will not be ordering from them again as my experience with their customer service was lacking... 20150503_162801 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162807 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162812 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162816 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162822 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162902 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162916 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_162830 by bjohnson388, on Flickr 20150503_163014 by bjohnson388, on Flickr
