Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Got the lokar throttle cable cut to fit and installed using their bracket which also works with the kickdown cable and comes with return springs. Also got my flex dipstick installed...

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Cool truck, love the patina. Quick question, maybe I missed it but is that a 67 steering wheel or one from a 60-66?
Truck looks great |

Thanks! It's a 67-68 wheel. Came out of a 67 and I picked it up for $40 and it was with a box of other 67 parts. Leftover from a guy's build... I've used some and sold others so really it was free! has a couple minor cracks and paint is thin in places...but that makes it fit in better! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
The front clip was power washed and cleaned last week and I got it painted also. Touched up a few last spots so it'll hopefully be ready to go on as soon as we get the front brakes sorted out and bled...no use working under the truck when it's much easier with the front clip off...

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
I should add that I got all that Lokar stuff for under $50 shipped total off ebay some time back...three separate auctions I won. Probably 200-225+ retail.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Thanks, my father came by the other day and said he really liked the way it looked....fairly stock looking with just enough "bling" (I almost laughed out loud when he said bling)...he's very soft spoken and traditional (good thing in my eyes )...I thought it was hilarious to hear him say that

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Looking back on the build and I am happy with what I've been able to get done with some help. Still wish I could have made the meet, but I'm going to have this on the road sooner than later....
Will have a LOT more to do once I'm driving it, but goal now is brakes, wiring, then driving!!! Then I'll fix the 100 other punch list items like window seals/fuzzies, rebuilt door guts, drip rail sealant, fix the rest of the front clip rust (under battery) the accuair setup in the near future.......

Nick came over (thanks again) and we got the front crossmember out. He took it back to his shop and is going to blow it apart with air tools. I'll be using the spindles/brakes off this because it has good drums and new wheel cylinders. Picking up some new brake lines today also. Got both cups welded on the fenders. Have another small patch on one to still do and need to patch the bottom of the inner fenders/rad support then a little mud and paint...

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
that's the before pic and progress on the passenger cup. Will work on the hood when I can drive the truck down to the body shop and use his metal brake to bend a new front lip

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Picked up the front brake lines today. Bmerdoc disassembled the front end so we'll be ready to bolt up the front next time he can come over. Then after the brakes are bled the front clip will go back on!

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Thanks!
Got the fender cups welded up and filler on them. Also welded up on the core support with my copper spoon and used filler on that... Need to sand and paint and will undercoat the inners and underside of the core support/splash shield. Had undercoating on it (guessing dealer add-on) so I'm going back with more to match the existing Also got the front sway bar wire wheeled and found a set of frame brackets for lowered trucks I will install Posted via Mobile Device
