Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

I'm building it strictly for swap meet duty. They won't let you ride it during the day, but I camp at the swaps so after hours it's game on.

Saw one of these today. At first I thought the guy had built it from scratch. Turns out it's a kit. 150mpg 40mph. Bikes looking good Kevin.

That scooter is going to look great. When/Where is the next big swap meet you're heading to?

We're going to set up at the fall La Grave swap meet. After last year's poor showing, we decided to skip the summer La Grave. It was 110 and no one was shopping for stuff so we didn't make any money.

Actually, since I posted the pictures, I have installed chrome cable clamps on the frame for both throttle and brake cables. Thank you though.

Earning it's keep today. There's a front half of a 73-87 Blazer and 800 pounds of short iron in the bed and 1100 pounds on the trailer. Total right at 2300 pounds of scrap metal loaded onto the thing...

Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

I haven't been on the board in a couple of months so I figured I'd log in to update a little.

I actually traded the truck off for a Dodge truck yesterday. The new owner is a lurker on here. He seems to be very excited about having the farm truck. Before letting it go, I did knock my shop logos off the doors though. I got burned once selling a truck with my name on it. The guy said he'd remove it when he got it home but Shane saw it at a swap meet a year later with my name still on the truck.

It's quite a truck for sure. It's going to be nice to shift gears and work on something non GM for awhile.

Seriously, I respect your new truck but man, I couldn't have traded the old one for it.

Sorry to hear about you selling the farm truck man. However, I know you like to mix things up quite a bit. Now that you sold the truck, doesn't mean you can't still come hang out though.

Re: My 63 farm truck build thread

I've been away from here for months. I kind of looked around but didn't see the new owner on here anyway. Some of my buddies have seen the old truck around and they said it looks exactly the same as it did when I traded it off.

I've been driving the Dodge that I traded it for everyday. It's been a good truck. My wife calls it "Truck Norris" because it's so tall and crude. I've been enjoying the power and 20 miles per gallon a lot.
