Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

When I was doing the hoses for my truck, I noticed that KRC says to only use hose rated to 2,250psi, I didn't realize it had to be that high!

Went down to my local hydraulic shop and a buddy of mine fixed me up. He made up some crimped fittings and hose. It's not as perty as yours is going to be though!

I didn't realize that either, kind of surprised the old one lasted this long!

Well, I built up my new power steering pressure line and it appears to be doing just fine. To quote Johnny Bench, "No runs, no drips, no errors." I also picked up my rear end, with fresh install of Richmond 3.73 gears and an Eaton posi.

Sweet!!!! Hurry up and get that installed. I need you to clear some calendar space so you can help me pull the "junky" motor out of my farm truck, .

How do a person tell what gear they have in their truck. I have a 67 frame and the rear was a poss. But don't know how to tell the gears, it works great. I think I have found something here in all my swapping around with these trucks..

Put the rear end on jack stands, put a chalk mark on the drive shaft and the tire. Spin the tire one revolution and count how many times the drive shaft turns using the chalk as a reference. This number is a rough estimate of what gear you have.

I like your shorty step side. I also board here in Fl. on the west coast call nature coast. I am sure that you are going to make this truck a show stopper. I will be following your build.

Funny thing, I would rather have your truck than any of those other cars or trucks parked on that row of vehicles. Your truck looks great!

I am going to do my best, I have a long list of things I'd like to do. Many of them are small details that most people won't normally notice or care to fix. Stay tuned and I'll see if I can keep it interesting.

I agree. I often think about having a new camaro, but I wouldn't be happy. There are hundreds of them running around here, but just a few 67-72 C10s! Thanks for the compliment!

I'll have to third the comment. I have always had a thing for the GNs. But given the option between YOUR stepside and that GN I'd choose your stepper. Very sweet

Re: Project "Just an Old Truck"

I have the "waiting for a shipment from CPP" blues... I'd love to have my rear disc brake kit so I can install the new posi rear-end. Good news is, tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day to drive my truck to work!

I talked with him, but I felt like my small order was an inconvenience to him so I just ordered from Jeff Norton. Well, consequently this evening, two weeks after I placed my order, I received a shipping notice from UPS. The brakes will be here... Thursday!!

So... we wait. Oh and ride around in the farm truck.
