I'm rather proud and excited about it. I always wanted one of these old medium duties. I stumbled on this one sort of by accident. Another guy bought it because it was in such good shape, except he had plans to pull the cab and hood for a C10 project. He was selling the remainder of the truck when I came across the ad. It seemed to nice and complete to allow it to be parted out. I made a deal with the guy for the whole truck. I sort of felt like it needed to be saved. It only has 29,000 original miles, and worked at a flower nursery, so it never really got abused much.

I'm tracking down items I need for it. I have plans to fix the dent and pretty it up a bit. Just going to keep it all original. I just want to track down some spare parts for the front end. Seems like that's the hard to find part area on this one so far. Everything is good in it right now, but I want to have spares just in case.

Here's a 68 F-850 Super Duty I scrapped last week. Originally a twin screw tractor it was stretched and made into a dump truck. I had to haul it in 3 sections. Powered by a 534 c.i.d. Super Duty, 5 speed and 4 speed browny. At first I though it was shame to scrap it but it was so used up and full of rats. Every panel was bent. Except the hood scoop heh heh.

That looks like the exact same truck lol. Even a 68 too. Or possibly a 69. I dig the hood scoop, I'm saving mine to put on my 59 Apache gasser.

Hey haminater, I'm not a ford guy but I wouldn't have had the heart to scrap that one, maybe the best looking ford truck ever, didn't happen to save the scoop did ya? Sindy and I were in Prescott Valley friday and Saturday, guess we should have looked you up. On our way back from Quartzsite, in the process of buying a piece of groud in Brenda. Not much going on at the PV flea market and the weather wasn't looking good so we made a break for it back to colo, hit heavy snow your side of flagstaff but got through it. Next time we'll try and give you a heads up. Thanks factorystock for the pic of the new one.

I was trying to pretend I hadn't seen those pictures, but I can't help it now.


If there's anything left of that truck haminater, there are a number of parts I saw that looked salvagable that are likely impossible to find for guys with those trucks. Hood scoop, grill (looks like those are the shutters), emblems, maybe even fenders and such. I could see the bumper even being useful as a template.

Well I really didn't have a way to haul the whole truck plus the rats took it over as well as some vandalism. I did save the scoop and emblems and tach dash too. Also saved the shutters and headlight bezels.

I remember when those Super Dutys were king of the dump trucks until the Louisville series came out!!!! (Here in the mid-west anyway!)

Agreed. The 5 ton is just too big for me to work on, but I could handle a deuce Jimmy. Engine is more familiar, being related to the 228 half ton motor.

Believe me I argued with my self for a week about what to do with this truck. There is a following for these for sure, however finding someone that would put Humpty back together again or even need parts anytime soon would be a stretch. At least around here, but I could be wrong. I paid 700 for it and couldn't afford to leave that money sitting in my back yard right now. I've been having issues with the city and commercial vehicles parked here lately too. Many factors involved made me decide to go ahead and junk it. I am a pack rat myself so I did keep a few things from it. I remember playing in one my dad drove over 40 years ago, I think it was an "N" series though. I figured I would catch some flack for junking it but believe me its not the first one I'll regret some day.

He is calling it a 9500, but I believe it is a Chevy C-70. Looks like a 6V-53 Detroit.

Pretty interesting truck for a pretty good price to boot. If it were close by, I would be checking on this one for sure.

Correct model should be JV7500 with 6V53, but that hood with the deep side skirts on the fenders is from a JH 9500 with the laid over 8V71.

I noticed that too about the deep side skirts, but figured may be they just came that way on some '73 or newer Chevy C-70 or a GMC 7500 trucks. I kind of thought of you when I first saw it, lol. Is that a non original set up for sure? I have to say that it is the first time I ever noticed one on one.
