Ya oil w the older I get the more I wish the lift I put on my truck last fall was a 2 1/2 as well.
Your truck looks great! Go nice and slow on reinstalling everything.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks for all the comments guys !!!
I'm So pleased at how it's turning out..... Now the ball is in my court to get the rest done...... I truly hope to have it on the road by late summer or early fall. This truck has been a dream of mine to complete, and I have to place a big part of being able to do it, in this fashion, on my late mother !!!! She left me some money that allowed me to do this......... Thank you Mom !!!!! Life is too damn short not to do the things you want to do while you can..... I would have done this one way or the other, but she enabled me to do do it right, and right now !!! I'm doing it in her stile , Just how I want it, and how she would want me to do it !!!! OK enough whining...... Here's to you Mom...

Man your truck looks beautiful. Good thing you changed the lift, you would have knocked your garage door opener down

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
The new lift is Perfect!! I can't stop looking at your truck! It is AWESOME I didn't read trough your entire build thread, but did you do all the body work or did you let the paint shop do it?

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
I let the body shop do all the body work. I could do it, but it would have taken me way too long, and it wouldn't have been nearly as nice, and I wanted this truck to be really sharp !
The rest has been my work, and I still have a fair amount to finish it up !

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
I found the truck to be a bit difficult to get in & out of my garage by myself, so until she's under her own power I went and bought a cheep 2,500 lbs ATV winch at HF and installed it in my garage to make the chore a lot easier. The winch is loud and grunts a bit to get the truck over the concrete lip entering the garage, but it works.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Good idea! I'm always afraid if i hammer drill a hole in my floor for a concrete lag bolt i'll end up cracking the concrete real bad, so i avoid it.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
I hear ya, but I'm too old to be pushing that thing back into the garage. Going out is no problem, going in is a slight up hill grade and that makes the truck a lot heavier ...... "LOL"

Nothing big, just messed around with my 8-383 emblems today. Painted them to look similar to the original emblems.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Thanks Dean !
One more pic. I used a mini roller for the black around the 383 and it came out like crinkle paint, not the best looking in the pic, but looks really good in person.

Thanks Jim !
Most of the progress from here on out won't be as dramatic as getting the body done, that was great to see it looking like a truck again. Now it's onto all the tedious stuff.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Well there's something to be said for having a driver instead of a project .... It's been yrs since I've driven one of my trucks !!!! But once this one is done I couldn't see selling it, at least not anytime soon, unless someone really came up with a lot of cash !!!! "LOL"
