Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
It's all good! Glad to share! I'm still on the fence about which engine to run, after I do all the machine work, buy the rotating assembly and have it balanced, and buy the necessary gaskets and valve regrind to my heads, I could buy one of those Pacific Fabrication new pull out 4.8 Vortec's with the new harness and the computer reflashed for $1750.00 !!! cost about $450 to have it freighted to my work. I'll have to think long and hard on this one!!! I got my machinist friends to make me some adapter plates for the small chevy mounts to LS1 engine mounts. guess I'll have to chew on that some more

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
This last month I haven't done as much as I had I hoped. I did get my steering column and a bunch of miscellaneous parts powder coated, but I wasn't very happy with stance on my front end. I pulled my front springs out to find I didn't get the springs in the pocket right on the lower A-arm's. After I fixed the problem, It dropped my front end down exactly where I wanted it.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Thanks Mike. I can't believe how fast you got your truck up and running after paint. Your truck looks awesome! Must be nice to finally drive it.
Thank YouThanks Rich.. I am thinking about taking the truck to Boulder City for Tuckers Annual Show (under construction class). I'll Hopefully see you then. PM me and I will give you my contact info. Thanks Keith, I think that's really cool you decided to paint your truck. If it comes out anywhere close to the work you put into your sheet metal, it's going to be awesome!

Rich, I can't wait too see your blazer. I have some really good high school memories in one of my buddy's K5! We never ditched school (yeah-right lol), and spent most of our days, digging it out of the sand at the Nellis Dunes lol

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Hey Mike, it's going well. I have slowed down a little bit on the truck due to kids going back to school and a second set of braces lol. I did send out my engine harness and ECM to get rewired/reflashed. I am hoping to get the bed floor and new front bed panel painted in the next couple of weeks so I can assemble the bed. My goal is to get it running by the end of October. Your truck is looking good. That's awesome that your driving it, I'm jealous haha
Thanks,

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Not yet Mike
I just checked the tracking number on my radiator and it will be here tomorrow after a lot of research I decided to go with a Griffin from Summit Racing. It will have both the inlet/outlet on the passenger side to match the LS ports. It is also equipped with two 16" fans and is a direct fit. I will post some pics after I receive it. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gri-cu-00013-ls I should also get my my engine harness and ECM back next week from S&S Performance out of Arkansas. WWW.LSX-HARNESS.COM They are adding the fuses and relays for my fans and fuel pump, and turning it into a stand alone harness. I did get my battery tray built and mounted on the frame with 1/4" aluminum and my rusty TIG skills lol. If everything goes right I should have it running in next few weeks.

Not sure if this has been talked about, but did you put eye bolts in the boddy mount holes to lift the cab? If so, would you do it again?
