Re: 68' Chevy c10

Man, don't do the LED business! I get that its the latest rage thing but its just not cool in our shop. Every day we see cool rides with them "racing" tail lights and jazz. Most of them have a light out, there not as bright as the OEM stuff and it just plain looks ghetto! Not trying to bash on your top-notch build, just my two pennys.

Re: 68' Chevy c10

I definitely like the inner grill color you went with, It offers great accent. But I think I have to agree with Johnny above with the LED's, especially with the color of the truck, I think the ol' bulb lights will look better. JMHO

Ok Johnny and the boy, I like hearing everyone's input, good or bad. I'm not using anything racy or ghetto IMO. the led's I'm using install in the factory location, and are brighter. also light up faster. Thanks Johnny and boy !
Like these. also for my dash lighting.

Thanks Adam ! My wife thought the same thing as you guys about the lights, but I showed her what I was talking about. I think shes sold on 'em now. I dont like the led boards or strips, but these just light up the lens like factory just brighter and quicker. Check 'em out.

Ahhh that's pretty cool! I was totally thinking one of them boards with the array of little LEDs and some non-stock looking lense.

I also like what you did with the grille inserts. Not sure what to do with mine as it's gonna be a real light yellow with a white top......

Anxiously await more photos!

Re: 68' Chevy c10

Just went back to the front of your build to try and find where you did the big-o sway bar. I had forgotten how much detail you've put into that thing! Man that's going to be sweet!

As for the sway bar - you must have moved the hat brackets of the donor truck to your frame? Do you plan on lowering the front at all?

Thanks man ! On your grill inserts you could go with the same light yellow, or silver, dark gray, satin black. you got lots of choices. As for my sway bar mounts, they were already on my truck. I just got the poly kit from energy susp.

Can't wait to see the finished product. What does the metal leaf do, adds texture?

Thanks man! it adds the look of texture, but mostly did it for the metal colors. go back to @ the middle of page 11 where I did the bowtie emblem. I'm going for the same effect.

Thanks Dan ! you should try it. It,s too blingy IMO without using some transparent color over it. think of it like a base coat. just know the color you use will change unless its over the silver. like if I shot trans blue over the dash bezel, it would look blue over the silver, but probably green over the copper.

Yes you do Frankie, they dont cost any more than a regular flasher. I also read that a heavy duty flasher work too. ( in most cases )
