Every dime and penny that you probably had!

Props to Top Banana Repro Parts for the deal you got on that bed as well.

I was thinking, for a steel floor bed you should install the floor on the frame, then build the bed on top of that. My wood floor had to be done in the yard then installed. I would go for the Tractor Supply Carriage bolt bins for most of the parts.

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb

well put the cab on the frame tonight! looks really good to me! not a barrett jackson mobile but very useable and still look good! i had put the bedliner on the cab floor last night, oxy moron if i ever heard one. it worked great but very very messy! i had it all over me and all over the floor, if i knew it would run as much would have used a piece of plastic. oh well, give one of the kids some thing to do, give em' a hoe and let them scrape! did half way up firewall, was going to paint to match but think it looks good with the black on the engine and with black inner fenders.

i have to say thanks to top bananna for a smoking deal on a set of true stamp 67' bedsides and header panel. nice that i will not have to fill the marker lights. had a good time at truck carlisle and got a lot of parts that i needed. also got to see some board members. saw some nice trucks and one silver truck that i am still trying to figure out what it was? mike did you figure it out yet?

Very nice! Looks right at home back on the frame. Sweet!
You may have already said, what kind of paint are you using? Looks really good.

she is comfy on there! well, dont laugh but i ahd priced paint and could not stomach spending a couple hundred on paint and screw it up. that being said it is rustoleum. kinda funny but the price is right $10 a quart and have used it on my bike and it has held up for 4 years with out any wear, gas, oil and flying road debri! it is not a high end show vehicle and want to be able to use it and not have to worry about! it is very durable when i used my lift contraption to set it i did not even get a scratch. it sprayed great and flowed out nicely so that being said i am very pleased with the results.

Don't worry, I'm not the type that would ever criticize or laugh at another guys project. It looks great anyway. As far as I know Rustoleum in the quart can is acrylic enamel and it should hold up good. I'm not a big fan of it in the spray can, especially if it sits out in the Oklahoma sun. It just doesn't hold up, I used it on my 69 frame, its peeling now, I used it on my utility trailer, its all peeled off too. Keep up the good work!

I am so digging that this is a bondo free vehicle. The weld work is awesome...I will have to say that the rustoleum paint job could begin to grow on me...wonder how it would look with a couple of coats of clear....maybe some dark green trim or black trim...hmmm.... looking great man. BTW thanks for the responses to my PMs they were full of good knowledge...(shameless plug for good peeps). Can't wait to see more.

thank you very much, it is very time consuming but i am very glad i am doing it this way. i just thought it would be neat to try and see how it would come out. anytime you cant learn with out asking and i would rather help than have you get into something and loose interest. something i had thought if you could find a votech or adult education school in your area they usually have some good cheap programs full of info and experiance to learn how to weld. the big thing is practice!

Rust prevention was never so exciting!
I think the worst of the conversions was that red s10 chopped into an old 30's style coupe! You can't put that front end and and old coupe rear clip on an "s" dime and leave the stock door! I somehow missed the silver truck. I like the pics I've seen of the 49 front end conversions, but haven't seen one in person to really see if it a good fit.

Diggin the rustoleum!

Re: "The way it is" 67'swb

You should be excited, you are building an awesome ride and everything you have done to date is perfect IMHO! Are you going to relocate the prop valve? I'm thinkin of putting mine on the frame just to clean things up under the hood.

no i had bought a wilwood with the manual adjust valve built in and brake sender. it is a very slick piece and it bolts right upto the factory bracket. it has the ports in different locations from oe. it was 50 odd bucks and is a hair smaller with all the good stuff. i think i have a pic some were in here will look for you.
