Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Very Nice.........can't wait to see the finished product. Was looking through all of your pics and noticed it came with all of the original seats. Would you still happen to have them? If so, would you want to sell them? We've been looking for the original front seat but have had very little luck. Let us know. Thanks.

Thanks burbgirl73, seats were sold a while ago to chiefrocka...don't know if he's going to use them or not, might check with him.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Nothing better than seeing family involved in different projects, quality time for sure. And creating great memories at the same time. The work you guys do is a pleasure to watch, thank you so much for sharing it all with us. A burb AND a camaro, i'm jeleaous beyond words! A question if you don't mind: most of the 60-66 suburbans i've seen, seems to have short wheel bases, did they not make them both long and short wheel base like the trucks? Here in my little part of the world, those 60-66 suburbans are really few and far between, and the few we see seems to be "shortbeds". And i think almost all the suburbans i've seen on here are shorties too. Just wondering, since here we use our trucks as trucks and shortbed trucks are not that wanted. But i would really like to get a suburban like yours, but would prefer it to be a long wheelbase, for loading capacity. It's just that i've never seen one, hence my question.
Thanks again for letting us share your adventures!

Thanks for the cool comments truckswede I've never seen a longer wheelbase suburban before, but they do have the long wheelbase panels that might fit the bill for you.

Here's a photo of my panel truck, long wheel base compared to the suburbans. I believe it's 337cm

So there are long wheel base panels out there? Never seen one of those either, but that answers my question. Thanks, RockTonka.

Yep. They're out there, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to find one. I thought I had a pic of one but can't seem to find it. I'm sure if you do a Google search though, you'll come up with some pics. If I come across one, I'll post it for ya.

115"wb panels and suburbans are 1/2 ton capacity and the 133" wb panels are 1 ton
any side rear windows that you see in the 133" wb panels are all aftermarket

Well, maybe a bit more...repaired a couple body mounts at the rear and then plated all of them.

The first fire/break-in/tune will be on the dyno at the machine shop...I'm hoping in the next month or so.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Working on putting the chassis back together...cleaning, painting, and upgrading where we can.

Changed up the wheels and went with a little bigger 31x16.5x15s, also switched over to coil overs on the rear.

Thanks Capt., 15x12 on the wheels.

We hung a new gear box on Capt.'s mount...upgrading the steering a bit.

Also ran the brake and fuel lines...
