^^^ That's a cool shot. Anyone know where that is? I see snow on the peak. Is that a dam in front or some other kind of structure? Railroad trestle, aqueduct?

Google Earth is really cool. The software lets you look around a location as if you were standing there. Unfortunately it looks like Peterson's Texaco along with several other buildings in that photo are no longer.

On the North Cascade highway. One of the best drives in America! I highly recommend it to everyone. The Olympic rainforest through Alpine forests then above the tree line and then back down into high desert terrain or vice a versa depending on whether your going east or west.

Kudos to the OP for starting an excellent thread!

If its a dam that would be (or was) a bad location.

Maybe someone eventually figured that out and that's why it's not there anymore. The gas station and other buildings, I mean.

Publicity still from 1963 film “A Ticklish Affair” with Shirley Jones and Carolyn Jones (aka Morticia Adams).

High resolution photo here:

It appears to be a dam. The photo was taken by a professional photographer, Dave Gelinas. If you look through Flickr he's taken many cool car related photos over the years.

He also appears to be on aaca.

Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread

I remember my brother stopping at a gas station driving me home from school and we put 13 cents of gas in our dad's 55 F-100.

How about this cool AD!

Agreed! What a strange scene behind the truck. Is that a scrap yard? Industrial dumping ground? Very strange...

A few more?

The 2001 movie "Vanilla Sky" recreated the famous Bob Dylan album cover with Tom Cruise, and with an AD truck in the background.
