Re: GMC V-12 powered '91 Chev crewcab
Great looking truck Pappy. That is the first full side view picture I have seen, the long hood and short step-side bed give it nice hot rod truck look.

Re: GMC V-12 powered '91 Chev crewcab
Here is the front shot. The front is all GMC. I used 6 fenders to make the two. It took 3 hoods to make one. I cut up 2 chevy hoods. I was a lot of hammering and sanding. Then do it all over again. And Again. The grill and bumper was white. The wife then decided it need some contrast. So spring green it is.
The V12'ers just might get together next year. I think that would be super cool. |

Re: GMC V-12 powered '91 Chev crewcab
I wanted to explain why ads had appeared on "Baluar", the '62 GMC V-12, videos. Haystack155 is my son and did the videos because I'm not that 'putor savvy.
A month or so ago, Youtube contacted him and asked if they could post ads, due to the number of hits the videos received. We debated it for awhile, then decided we'd consent. They offered to pay a royalty based on view numbers, but we have no idea what that will amount to, if any. We didn't know what type of ads they'd display. Some ads were/are kinda' "girlie", and started to make us wonder if that was a good idea. So far, they haven't been too bad, but if they get too bad, we will have them removed. If they don't remove the bad ones, we will delete "Balaur" entirely. We want to keep anything we post to be in good taste and "family friendly". He has a child and I have other grandkids, so we don't want anything associated with what we do that we wouldn't want to watch with our kids or anyone else. I haven't tinkered on the truck for awhile, but maybe will get inspired to get back to work on it after snow season. Thanks, Cayoterun

Pappy's truck reminds me of an altered wheel base car. It's pretty sweet.

Re: GMC V-12 powered '91 Chev crewcab
The long hole behind the wheel is there for a reason. You have discovered
what I will be doing this winter. My idea is to build headers with 6 pipes out each side. I started making them, but it is going to take a lot of time. The pipes I have now are just to get it on the road. |

maybe down the road you can fab up a stack style fuel injection system for it, those pipes and 12 stacks out the hood would be perfect.

With the "zoomies" you need to lower the front of the GMC to give it the funny car look. I can see it now and it is sweet!

Think about the Ramchargers original car, a '50 Plymouth 3-window coupe. It had the wildest set of stacks that I can recall.

Re: GMC V-12 powered '91 Chev crewcab
I'm waiting on a reply from Marvin about the chassis he used. He started out this build with the plan to use a '91 Crew Cab. Things progressed from there to what it is now. But, you are right because basically everything one sees is '60-66. Waiting on Marvin...

Nice! I'm glad to see some of the old brutes brought back and preserved in some way. The simplicity of design and maintenance was far ahead of their time.
Thanks for posting, Cayoterun

Re: GMC V-12 powered '91 Chev crewcab
After a two year search, and a grass fire, I got some better doors. It will take all four to make two. They still have the knee-knocker crease, but less than the others. Minimal rust, and heat didn't warp anything. The glasses and door latches still work. They're from a 4000 grain truck, so will probably leave big mirrors, until the bed is changed, if ever.
Progress slow, but even a turtle gets there if he keeps going. Cayoterun
