Smallish up-dates....Got the hood stripped and ready to prime..I also went to the junk yard and picked up some much needed parts...Got two headlight buckets,Great condition,I also picked up a set of sun visors, also got lucky as they are perfect, Just need died Black...Wiring is all about wrapped up...Hopefully i will have it at work with in the next few days.....Really scary how this thing looks as if it will drive again....Seems it has been forever since i have drove it.....And i cant wait to drive it again.......

Re: project (sweet pea)
George Yes it is.....ANd very Moisture Sensitive..........I would not Recommend Spraying this in a Garage....Trust me....I had to Edge my Parts in Twice......An Enviroment that you can control is a WAY better approach if you ask me........I am not saying it cant be Sprayed at home.....But its not an easy chore.......This stuff is very touchy.lol.....Everything has to be perfect....Before Application.

Re: project (sweet pea)
Small update...After dicking with a used and Junk 3 inch cowl hood. I decided to just go with my factory hood for now....There was tons of dents in the cowl hood,(which i fixed) and after what seemed too be a whole day on trying to get it to line up. I just was not happy so i made my mind up and what do you know had the stocker fitting pretty good in about 5 mins...There is still some adjusting to get everything right but its close enough for paint( its getting painted apart)....Also got the bed on, me and a buddy bout crapped our pants but its on there.......Anyways, plans are to get everything lined up,and take it to the shop for a few weeks of blocking.........Here are some pics

Re: project (sweet pea)
FYI, hate to bring it to your attention but someone spraypainted your license plate...
that stock hood looks good but I think it would look good with a small cowl hood as well..

I think its a reject or ? its so off....And my factory fit with NO mods ir adjustments, Geoff....You understand lol, Its making me crazy at this point, all the patience i had seems so be fading, but i will take it slow and do it right.71tahoe, You can think Geoff( C10-driver) for the color inspiration. Re: project (sweet pea)
Have not had a lot of spare time. for Sweet Pea yet i am so close.....Been jacking with (Herbert) the 67swb i bought....Trying to get it winterized and just running right so just a small update.....Got the hood struts all laid out and mocked up today....Really pretty easy. Just tons of measuring.......I just got to take everything back apart, and paint everything. Also got the hood stops(adjusters) drilled and mounted....Just need to clean, prep, paint the brackets......At any rate i think its looks clean and simple....And NO MORE SPRINGS.........
Anyways here are a few pics.....I think it looks cleaner....? |
