I'm taking a break from the wiring, since Kevin finished welding up my coverted blazer gas filler tube and adding a bit to my blazer tank. I painted, installed and connected all the fuel and vent tubes. It turned out really nice. I got the idea for the filler tube from Livrat another member and modified it a little.

Jugernot, truck is looking great, i was just playing with my truck this weekend trying to plan out the wiring and thought about puting the fuse block in the kick panel vent, then saw you did it, how funny. but i have a few questions for you, how are you planning on routing the wires from the fuse panel to the engine, headlight section? in plain getting all wires to outside the cab? did you still use the painless wire disconnect the normally goes thru the firewall?
Do you happen to have a picture of the the fuse panel installed? if your willing to share if not i understand, i have a couple of secerts that i want to keep on my truck as well until its done.

I used an 18 curcuit universal non GM column ingition harness from painless. (pictured below). it does not have the firewall connector like the OEM style harness. its all one piece.

If you are going to put your harness into the vent, make sure that you have the turn signal flasher fuses install to check fitment ans accessiblity.

As for the wires the go into the engine compartment, Kevin put a hole through the kick panel. I do not have a picture of it but it is oposite the kick panel vent opening some where around the area shown by yellow in the picture below.

I have no problems sharing, in fact a couple of memebers have used our idea for the gas filler door.

Just another thought, you could probable also put the harness through this area, but of course on the drivers side.

thank you for sharing, im trying to decide which way i want to go, i hate the look of wires im trying to figure a way to get it all done with very minimal amounts of wires being seen anywhere in the truck, going to be alot of work but i think it will be worth it.

Okay, Well I'm trying to light the inspiration fire and motivated myself to get to work on Lemon Drop. So I finished installing by March Performance Serpentine Belt system. After three trips to Napa I found the proper belt size, which was a couple of inches less that what the instruction stated.

I also used a piece of 3/8 inch brake line to fad up a fuel line from the carb to the pump. I will be using a piece of stainless steel tube to replace it (more bling). I may have an issued with the routing of the lower radiator hose, but since I plan on using electric fans it may not be a problem.

I think I will work on the AC/Heater hoses next.. I can’t decide if I want to use steel braided to black. I know the steel braided would look great, but $$$ has been a little hard to find.

I have not inspired myself enough to finish the wiring thought.

Okay, I spent about 2 hours trying to figure out what fittings I needed for the AC Heater lines. Then compared the priced with a braided hose and rubber hose. The braided kit would total $600. The rubber hose kit would total $350. This is using stainless fittings from www.gottoshow.com. So because of the cost I will probably go with the rubber hose.

Anyone know of a place to get a show stuff cheaper?

You might be able to get the hose made cheaper at the Parker fitting store in Sac. I think its called Sac. Hose and fittings. it right off the Causeway.

Very slick build.

Mine isn't nearly as far along as yours, but I never thought of how much hoses were going to cost for the vintage air system on my truck.... add it to the list $$$
