How long did it take you to do just one of those corner cab moldings? Mine are oxidized pretty bad as is the tailgate molding.

It took almost 2 hours to do one cab corner. It takes some time because of the emblem that you have to go around and the bend. I think I should be able to do the straight piece in approx. 3 - 3.5 hours. It would take approx. 7 or 8 hours to do the complete cab trim molding. That is doing most everything by hand. I am sure it would go alot faster with some air/power tools. I plan on trying to find a tailgate band and doing it as well.

PS. I haven't forgot to get you the paint code for the gray, I'll ask next time I'm up there.

Thanks for the info.

Not real worried about the paint codes. Just wondering how far off the factory steel gray it is. I am thinking of doing the gray on my interior when it gets painted. Still up in the air about that one.

If you are careful, you can get the emblems out and back in by bending the tabs.

It's a lot of work but worth it. I've read and watched some YouTube videos on ways to remove the anodized coating. I didn't try any of them but they seem a little easier than sanding it off.

I really like the gray on gray. It fits the project name. Cab trim turned out very nice. Are you painting the botwie or the yellow?? Either way, looks really good!

Thanks!! I plan on painting both the bowtie and the yellow but haven't decided on how yet. I was thinking about painting the yellow in with charcoal gray like the pinstripe and painting the bowtie a silver color.

Thanks Korwin and you're right, these pictures don't do it justice. Once I get the truck back I'll be able to position the truck with better lighting where I can get much better pictures!

Well I haven't actually got the truck back yet. I should get it next week. But we've all heard that before!

I'm going to have it done, it's at a shop in Houston now. Going to have the motor pulled and dressed up, the firewall shaved and painted with vintage ac installed, digital dash installed and truck painted!

What color are you planning on painting it? Did you bag it yourself?

Re: Project Platinum C10

Clayton, I refreshed my dash gauge/lights ect, $4 job to keep you busy? Got some great advice on this forum! It has a kind of cool halo effect with the white paint, and the dash lights are really bright now.

That looks really cool! Especially with your dash being painted white! I may have to do something like that.

Re: Project Platinum C10

You could use a silver for the face that would match yours, but paint the back side white for the light reflection. Thought it would be a good project while your truck was still in paint jail.

No I didn't bag it myself but i redid something's after I got it back. And I'm going to two tone it, galaxy gray on top and bottom with a Brandywine red in the middle.
