Thanks for the vote man! Wish I'd noticed sooner I would've promoted myself more! But, no updates I've been putting all my time, money and effort into this.....
Also found this poor soul on one of the trails in WV. No telling all it went through to get in that condition. It's a chevy for sure. 1949-1950? It was mostly there just so bent and twisted. I couldn't believe how nice the bumper looked compared to the rest of it. I have more pics of it if any interest.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Looks like you've been having fun!!!!
Say I was looking at your engine setup what pulleys are you running??? I really like that dual pulley setup! Also what fan are you running? I am gonna need a little extra cooling power with that turbo setup!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Hey Adam! The pulley setup came on the engine from PO like that. I agree I think the look cool too, and they work great. I would search around, I'd say some of it's 250 pulleys, some probably small block and so on. The fan is a 6-7 blade steel fan. I'd say it's factory too, just a matter of what it came off of. Small block maybe. Wish I knew more for you, I've just cleaned up and painted what I was givin. I'd like to eventually go dual electric fans personally with aluminum radiator. That should be plenty even for a turbo'd engine. On cooling seems you can never do too much.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Hey guys! Getting my air hammer and ball joint fork tool set in soon, gonna try and get Copper back on the ground again soon! BUT......he'll be back up in the air soon after that. Going to attempt pulling the tranny and just replacing the seal myself (with some help from a friend at work that's done this before). Plan to clean it up, paint it, and put some new finned aluminum pan and flywheel cover on. Soon I hope. Also gotta get my gauges fully installed so I can fire it up (hook up the oil line).

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Copper is on the ground! The air hammer did the trick! Glad to have him sitting back on all four again. The rear still sits lower though. Probably by about an inch. I think I'm gonna grab the stock (not heavy duty) springs out of the parts truck I got and see how that looks with stock shocks (not the coil-overs). Also gonna get the fronts off of the parts truck because I'm eventually gonna put four-wheel disc brakes on it and the spindles will be 2 1/2" drop. Which will be all the drop I need. Took a pic or two so you could see what I mean. I guess the Chevelle springs are just too soft.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Just yank the tranny yourself. It's not hard. Heck I pulled the 4 speed out of my Chevelle in the parking lot of a Waffle House in Myrtle Beach many moons ago.
Pull the tranny, it's just a Turbo 350. Then ask around at the car shows for a TRUSTED tranny guy. You've got a six, not a big block or stroker motor, so you don't need a monster build up on your tranny. I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a rebuild (order your own new torque converter, well worth the insurance) with me carrying it in. Heck you can buy a rebuilt TH350 (built for a lot more power than a 250 has) for $550 exchange.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Thanks guys. Not sure if I want it THAT low though. Just personal preferance. That was kinda the idea behind it to see if i like it. I think I like the raked look too. But I do want it lower than stock. I think I may go with stock springs in rear with 2" drop blocks and stock springs in front with the 2 1/2" drop spindles.
Thanks ctandc! Good info. Yeah I got a reputable tranny person here local always do good work. I'm thinking of doing like you're saying and pull the tranny myself have it rebuilt by them and order me a good torque converter from summit racing or jegs. 71Sleeper I found these wheels just randomly on Ebay and just HAD to buy 'em! SO glad I did!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
How do you like the round mirrors? I was debating between the round ones or the 5"x7" mirrors... I will be pulling a trailer now and then so do the round ones give enough coverage on both sides?

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
The round mirrors give me plenty of coverage, but I got used to them. Plus I like the way they look better. Guess it would depend on how often you tow and what kind of trailer it is. An open utility type would be fine. Large tandem or enclosed trailer I would go with the rectangle mirrors with blindspot add ons. My two cents.
Thanks Crazy Dave!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
CrazyDave its called the Gateway Special Olypics 10th Annual Car, Truck, Tractor, & Show. It's in Dowtown Mount Sterling August 18th. Registration 9 am to 1pm. Hope you can make it. Heck hope I can make it, gotta get my tranny lined out too! It's for a good cause though. I hope you and anyone else who'd like to bring their trucks out can come!
Thanks John. Gonna have to tear back into it anyway. Stock springs in rear (maybe blocks like u did) and new balljoint and tierod ends. Guess I at least got an idea what it looks like.
