thats not a bad idea, and also add some kind of support rod chingas or something, in case it happens to be windy while working on it or possibly on the side of the road so it doeasnt try to close on you lol.

changed the alt/power steering belts today, took a pic of the lowest part of the front while i was airing up the back. also got my 1" wheel spacers today and found out that they dont fit, wt, how do they not fit if they were made to spec.... well lets see, the center bore is slightly to small (just enough to not let them go on without force), the lug nut hole to bolt them on is not deep enough and the lug nuts stick out past the flat surface, oh! and the studs are not the right size/thread pitch , they should be 1/2 20 but they are not, they are i believe 1/2 something else, maybe 1/2 16 , but i could be wrong. so my conclusion of this for tonight is....either they dont know how to make them to spec, or their specs are wrong. either way i will be taking them back tomorrow/today, and letting them know the issue and that they need to fix it, or give me my money back. hopefully they will fix it so i dont have to take my business elsewhere. i also dont have the time to wait to get them back right now before the cpp show, so the 1.5" ones will be going back on for now untill the new ones are fixed or replaced with something that fits

seems that way lol. well i took them back today and they said they will have them fixed for me but it will be about 5-7 business days, they have to ship them back to nevada to be fixed as that is where they were made and then shipped back out here, hope i can have them back and installed before the show. on another note, the burb is basically done enough for the show, just need to fill up the gas tank, get the windshield installed, repaint and install the hood, give it a good washing , and clean out the inside. oh, and readjust the pan hard bar.

after i hosed it off i took a trip to the gas station with no hood or windshield , but.............. i did have it in the back seat , got some gas, $100 bucks only got me barely over 26.5 gallons of gas and thats not even a full tank , that crap was 3.75 a gallon for 87 octane . anyways after that, i drove down and got my windshield installed, and it only cost me $45, the last time i had one put in by some other business it cost me $60 so i feel like i got a pretty good deal on that. now i have some small electrical gremlin i have to fix with one brakelight and turn signal not working , also built a temporary headlight harness to get me by for now, and while doing that i found yet another issue lol. one of the headlights is taking a dump, the low beam doesnt work anymore and it is dimmer than the other. and the dimness should not be because of a bad ground as they are both grounded in the same spot. also installed the gray dash pad that i had bought from gringoloco. anyways here is a few more pics.

They sell super thin lug nuts for those adapters. Also try to keep paint off the mating surface too. Maybe it's just me but the studs on the new adapters look thick! I haven't been on here for about 3 weeks so maybe I have missed something...

no not much just look and read a little lol. ok i will make sure to clean the piant off the mating surface when i get them back from being fixed. they also told me i had to cut the lug nuts i have . and on the studs yah they are not correct, i told them when they fix them to put the right ones in it

edit: where do they sell the super thin ones at?? i have the regular open ended ones right now

They have to be open nuts for sure! Off hand I'm not sure where to to get them, I haven't used those in a long time. In the German car industry they are used all the time, it's incredibly common. That's the only time I have ever used them was putting them on BMW's, VW's, Evo's and STI's. The customer I use to do the work on, for his cars, brought me everything.

If I see the the thin lug nuts I'll let you know for sure. You can sand them down, but do not get them too hot, they might crack when you torque them or while you are running them. Definitely don't want that.

I'm surprised the company that sold them to you didn't have any to sell you, nor sent you in the direction to get them.

thanks, and thanks on keeping a look out for me, and yah i am suprized as well, we will see when i go pick them back up if they have any or what not. what about carfully cutting them with a cutt off wheel after they are installed or is that not a good idea??

If I was to cut them I would measure just shorter than they need to be, and mark it with a fine tip sharpie and sand them down slowly with a bench style belt sander, dipping them in water to keep em cool. It would be hard to get them cut flush when they are mounted.

on the thin lug nuts, im not sure if this is what u need but i tried something called gorilla lugnuts from discount tire. they were about 40 bucks. i had some 22's i bought for the other suburba i had and regular lug nuts wouldnt fit. the rim was the kind with no center cap..the lug nuts were recessed. they came with its on socket too

You just need to make sure those spacers get mounted as good as you can. Studs should come almost all the way out to the face, and to use up as much threaded stud with the nuts as possible.

Yeah, you could use locking ones too like Kev said as long as they work out right.

the lug nuts i have for the spacers are fine, just a little to tall and stick out past the mounting surface. the ones i have for my rims to bolt to the spacers are fine and have no problems with them at all except they wouldn't fit the studs because they put the wrong size/thread pitch ones in

i do believe the stud came almost all the way to or right at the face, and the end of the lug nut just past that, maybe 1/8"

If its just an 1/8 Id shave em for sure, no need to buy new ones, you will never see them anyway. Won't hurt them at all either.

got the hood repainted and installed today/tonight, looks much better now. also have still not figured out why i am having issues with that tail light, but then again i did not mess with it today. oh! i also cleaned the 67 arm rests off with some acetone and now they look alot better minus the seafoam grean color .

For your tail light issue check the tail light housing bolts. Mine use to do that cause the housing couldn't ground well enough. Just unscrew them and screw them back in with the lights on.

i am running 89-93 caddy tail lights, not sure if that matters or not though, and they also have their own ground wire coming out of the bulb socket plug thing
