Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

That tailgate had more identification than an '80s Toyota pickup. I remember in the '80s they had to put the build sheet on the tailgate, Toyota, SR5 or 1 Ton, EFI, and I think V6 all on a little tailgate. I had the '78 Scottsdale 30 Camper Special 454/4spd dually but it just said Chevrolet on the big tailgate (not painted) because you can see what it is. I had a cocky attitude about their so-called 1 Ton pickups, especially when pulled up next to mine. That was a joke. I decided to get a tag that said WON TON () and I had my buddy letter across the top of the tailgate, "No EFI, No O/D. Just A Stinkin' Quadrajet!"

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

My neighbor across the street was pressure washing his driveway, and I asked him if that thing would take off paint. I didn't mask off a car I painted many years ago well enough, and I had some overspray on the driveway. He started in on it, and it became obvious that the whole driveway would have to be done. Hero! He did it all, before sunset. Still some paint remnants to clean up, but my driveway is tons better. I'll get him a handle of Jack when I go to CostCo tomorrow. He refused any payment, like I used to do for neighbors many years ago. What goes around, comes around!

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

They do take a lot longer to cook since they don't flatten out like regular cookies. I'm not sure I went the full 30 or 40, but I kept checking the bottom to see if they were browning and pulled them once the bottom started to brown.

That's what I did too. I couldn't wait for them to cool to try them so I rolled a couple in the powdered sugar warm. Yummmm! Second cookie sheet is in the oven now....

Not for me. My second batch will be my favorite, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. I'm about ready to start making them.

I made them smaller so you can just pop the whole cookie in your mouth at once. A lot less messy that way...
My wife says they are addictive...

Here in ID, we are getting a pretty major winter storm and temps have been cold!!!! I thought I would do something for the birds. I had some cardboard boxes and made little shelters. Sadly, I went out to the patio and found a dead dove. Poor little guy froze to death

as i got a "new" truck, don't want to spend money on the stepper anymore...so i re-purposed the muffler off the kid's 'bird. welded some hangers on it and voila, my stepper don't sound like a friggin' helicopter going down the road anymore

That flowmaster cross flow muffler sounds really good on those F-bodies. And the slash cut tips look just right.

My advanced cadets in my Principles of Engineering class are designing a remote-control submarine (they picked the project). Today I've been printing and machining parts for their ballast tank.

I just looked at that on the Eastwood site. Looks like a nice unit. I have the Woodward Fab I think 18" throat. It's manual and I have not used it in quite a while.

i think it'll do a good job.i looked at several but they're mostly the same, likely all from the same chinese factory?i think i'll build a stand for it,maybe out of an old engine stand i have rather than mount it in a vice but we'll see.it ticks me off waiting on unreliable people to deliver the one i ordered,i'll be at Eastwood in October when we go to Williamsgrove Speedway to see the winged sprint cars but i can't wait til October?hurry up and wait.

I hate waiting. lol
When I had my JD2 tubing bender I welded a 4x4 tube to an old wheel/tire combo as a mount.

That stuff gets under my skin. That dealer probably doesn't keep that in stock, just orders one when requested. I always figured the investment in warehouse and inventory are what justify middleman profit.

yes sir, drives me nuts.when i asked a week ago for the tracking number,he got all pissy with me telling me to refer to my original email when he said if i ordered on Friday,he'd ship the next week, well i didn't order til Monday, that week came and went, another week is here and almost gone, still not shipped but it's paid for?if he doesn't have a tracking number on Monday,i'm telling him i want my money back,i'll call Eastwood and have them ship it to my address at the border in Maine and i'll just go get it,4 hours away.it's not that difficult or shouldn't be??

Pic of the curly birch coat rack I built. It had tear-out about 1/16" deep. Good thing I have a drum sander. There is no way I'd've taken off that much material by hand, and the planer would just tear out more of the wood. That stuff is hard as rock. Love that figure, though!

Beautiful. Im looking at buying a big from sander for large pieces . Tear out is a problem with the planer in hardwoods that have knots and or curly figure because the grain changes direction you end up going from with the gran to against it in the same piece of wood .
