Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Mike body color to your firewall. or do the firewall and everything around the same. that way your main focal point will be the engine......buttttttt all the hard work on the panels and custom bay stuff would stand out with some color If it was mind id paint the motor with a color to accent the truck and then satin everything else but make sure your motor is spotless. Add a little bit of polished lokar here and there to break it up, use stailess flushmount fastners if needed to clean it up. go to www.tastynuts.com and they make every nut and bolt you can dream of and in any material and finish and color. they are out of the country but very USA friendly...we use them on the race bikes all you will need is your threads and lenght. They make a beautiful washer/tapered bolt kit too plus tons of colors. im using a fin style coil cover and going to paint just the insides body color and polish the rest.

in that case like most are saying. paint everything around the motor the color of the truck and just accent the motor.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
i still thinking about giving the sheetmetal parts you made a brushed look and laquer them and paint the rest under the hood in bodycolour maibe even the engine , that and a brushed metal filterhousing and some matt black accents should give just enough bling under the hood

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Hey Mike...It might be kind of late for this, but have you thought of doing something like a small stamping of your logo in your filler panels? I don't know what it would take to do that or maybe you could have something airbrushed on them so they stand out like you want. Just an idea.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Mike I agree with the majority on this one, I think all the panels, slosh tubz, firewall, etc. should be gloss body color. It will look much better that way.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
mike just have someone paint your logo on your tubz and clear over...make the logo a few shades lighter or darker and just faded enough to be noticed then clear the tubz,,,,then a small stand with business cards in the fender channels on both sides above the tubz and they will get all kinds of attention...your choice on logo placement but if you put Slosh Tubz on them and then put cards above them people will instantly know what it is....and when not at shows and showing off the engine bay people will see the name. Maybee like a light grey just sprayd dark enough to be seen but burried under clear so its no way to mistake what it is. my 2cents

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
I think you will like everything glossy. I have never figured out why some people will build a 50,000 dollar truck and then have that black core support. I like it ALL BC/CC. people will notice your TUBZ, don't worry!

Another option is to two-tone it.... the face/front in satin black, the top & rear in another color w/a pinstripe separating the two.
