Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I had the radiator on my 67 welded to fix two leaks. Installed it. Started it to check for leaks.

That's what I did to (one of) mine today....

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Met up with KrazyRay after work and scored some much needed parts. I'll actually be able to sit on something other than springs and roll the window down.

Feels like uptown. I won't know how to act!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Took one side of the 327 heads off to see if I need to hot tank them or just rebuild the engine. Of course as I was using my breaker bar to loosen the head bolts, I turn to far and slammed my finger into the 50lb intake manifold I have sitting near the engine. Dang it smarts to heck!! LOL

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Went and visited her in paint prison. They should be shooting some primer on her in the next week or so. Body panels and floor repairs look good. shop took her down to base metal to start from there. Only a few more months to go!

Can you post some more photos. You and I have very similar taste.
Mostly interested in your wheels. In process of moving from 20inch flat black wheels to 15 inch classic rally's I plan to blast and paint.

Stopped at MAR-K in Oklahoma City and bought all new mouldings for the 72. They are beautiful. I can't wait to get home and install them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I filled my gas tank for the first time, by the time I got back in my truck gas was running out of my sending unit. I pulled it out today and silver soldered it to stop the leak. Now I just have to get the gas smell out of the cab.

I tightened the bolts that hold the steering rack to the frame.
A little bit every day, had the wheels off for over a month now. Maybe by September it will be rolling again.

That's fixable yes but since the cylinder has obviously been full of water for years , methinks it's time to simply get another engine core , they're cheap and plentiful here in La La Land (home to fruits , nuts & flakes) you'll prolly have to bore it to .030" before the rust pits are gone , not a good thing living here in The Desert .

Just to - day I went to Pick-A-Part on Blinn West of PCH in Long Beach and discovered SIX '67 ~ '72 C/10's & C/20's , several Customs , several rust free cabs , many dent & rust free fenders , inner fenders , core supports and so on..... all Long Bed Fleet Sides sadly .

I considered the 1970 C/20 cab for my '69 as it's rust free and has A/C....

I got a nice set of original green factory seat belts , mine are badly frayed and sun bleached to the point of me worrying if they're safe , now I'll be golden once I wash these out , dry and install them .

ALL these are V-8 rigs , PS , PB , AC etc. - it's all there .

Whoa, Bennett! Very, very nice.

First day back for me. Been off on a music gig with Brothers and friends.

I went to inspect and found NO LIQUIDS on the floor!

Finished up the elec. fan install, routed the starter wire and the Napa made-up trans lines away from the passenger's side header,
wired up the lic. plate lights that snap into the roll pan, snugged up the mid and rear wire harness.

Then, I put the wheels on, torqued 'em down and took that sucker off of jack stands.

Hooray!

Next (with camera in hand this time), cowl, hood hinges and hood install.I decided not to bolt the seats down until I was on the ground.
I just wanted to look out the way I was going to when I wasn't 12" in the air!
