That particular flag set on the front fender denotes a big block. Hot Rod!

I remember when I worked for the local Chevrolet dealer out of high school, the local CHP officers seemed to buy a lot of the hot rod cars off the used car lot. I guess those 440 Polara patrol cars spoiled them.

Yep, big block gonna run you down . Later, our troopers had Polaras or Fury IIIs. I took my drivers license test in a '71 Fury III. How I parallel parked that big boat is a mystery to me. I remember it had pretty poor rear vision and I had never driven the car before

In case anyone is interested, the first two are pictures of that plaster repair job completed.

She always talked about the red & white paint a renter did that her father covered with paneling. The whole room was paneling that I removed

That's the coolest paint scheme I've ever seen on a cop car. Somebody decided to not just go to the door jamb in the back.

Double trouble for you and the dog...maybe the skunk. But the other he might have enjoyed . Look at those ears and that expression. The "I know I screwed up" look

Agreed. I always thought so. Back when car wheels took wheel covers (steelies) our troopers were allowed to put their own on their cruiser. They'd move them to the new one. I always thought that was cool, too

Nothing to do on any of our rolling stock, so enjoyed a cup of coffee while burning a bunch of sap filled pinecones, while looking at where my boiler slab will be.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Unusually warm weather . This is something I wasn’t planning on doing until spring the rear door on my camper was getting very bad hard to open and close and it finally got to the point I had no choice . Used pressure treated screwed and glued with construction adhesive. Letting it cure in the basement overnight and reinstall tomorrow

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

that helped it out a lot. I think a black bumper suits it better than chrome, since it was the only chrome on the truck

I posted this in the "Tractor Thread", with no response so far. Over the weekend I worked on a friend's '72 John Deere 2520 Row Crop tractor. The couple to the hydraulic pump blew apart and he says the pump has been leaking a long time. I believe that by the mess. Parts are ordered and I got it torn down and ready.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Had to go get my wife her Tacoma wouldn’t shift press the clutch nothing . I get to where she is about 45 minutes from home check the clutch master and it’s empty . I put some fluid in it pumped the crap out of the clutch peddle just to get a puddle of fluid under the truck . Pretty sure the line blew called AAA and they tell me at least two hours . No way am I sitting there that long . I have her get in my truck I get into the Tacoma hit the clutch bypass switch and start it in 2nd gear . I was able to shift on the roll so I managed to get home with only stopping once and having to turn it off . Plenty of rolling stop signs

The Tacoma is all fixed took about an hour and $25 in parts the clutch slave cylinder went . Did the whole job in the driveway at least it’s 55 degrees out

21 years it was OEM .

Busy day had to make a new retainer for the plow . This holds the pin in the lock position. The closest dealer didn’t have one and it could have been weeks to get . After that I primed the steering wheel still needs a little fill here and there

did the clutch slave in my stepper 2 months ago. wasn't 55 out though....
last week the clutch started acting weird, checked and there was practically no fluid. searched everywhere for a leak and couldn't find nuthin'....till i moved the floor mat in the cab. push rod seals, prob cause of more pressure from the new slave. one thing i have always hated about my stepper- has carpets. first and prob only truck ever had or will have carpets...give me rubber

I guess I caught " pantry fever ". Got my list together, went to town, came home and built her some canning shelves. We heat and cool the garage anyway, so I may as well put it to good use.

My buddy and I moved my old poker machine into my river place just in case no one likes how I deal at the table. We are both getting too old to move heavy objects especially up stairs. It collapsed the first table we put it on right onto my toes. . It's a heavy SOB. I still need to level it out but my toes and my back hurt so it's got to be tomorrow. Good enough for today.

Went to get my taxes done and stopped by the grocery store to see if the girlscouts were selling cookies yet. I got lucky and picked up two cases of mint. I only bought one case last year and ran out by October.

The sellers just must have been so excited to sell 2 CASES to one person. I first read your comment as boxes not cases. I thought, man, that's some discipline. Making a box of thin mints last until October

I can sit down and eat a whole box at once if I'm not careful. I love those things.

You don't let the chocolate melt off in your mouth so you can savor the moistened mint cookie flavor being absorbed by your taste buds???

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Wife and I went to the local grocery store, wife needed some things. She saw the girls' scouts and asked to be dropped off before them because "If I go by them, I end up buying their cookies". Well, I wanted cookies but not the guilt of buying them. So, I dropped her off, then pulled past them so she had to go by them on her way back to my truck. The wife stopped and got a box of mints and told me I did this on purpose. "Who, me. I moved to make room for the next guy." I got my cookies.

Girl Scout cookies are like Jack in the Box taco's. They aren't the greatest in the world but you can't pass them up or stop eating them.

Dang... Now I'm hungry.
