I know the older trailers are, especially the canned hams. I went looking for one in 2015. After recovering from shock, I bought a 16' 2013 Retro for 8k. Fully contained...

It's hard to find anything for sale that is "worth it" when it comes to money asked. How about a fake patina '64 SWB with 350/TH350 for $98k?

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I sold my old house. Well kinda sorta. After only one day on the market I got a cash offer for full asking price and before I could respond I got another for more and then another for even more. I couldn't believe it. These people are fighting over it. So I'm just sitting back and watching the bidding war for a bit. I thought that I'd be sitting on the place for at least a couple of months but it seems that isn't the case.
I just wanted to get rid of the place but if they want to keep jacking up the price then I can live with that.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Started the new steps for back entrance of the rental . And wouldn’t you know my Dewalt 18v impact driver bit the dust it started smoking and I wasn’t even using it . I was down to the last battery anyway . I ended up buying a 24v Flex with the stacked battery . Little pricey but it has a lifetime warranty if you buy it before Dec 31 . Just need to register it online within 30 days of purchase . I have to say it out performs the Dewalt . I like that it has different settings of power so you don’t overdrive the screw .
This is the landing out the sliding door there will be two steps to the patio .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I'm not familiar with the Flex brand in this area. I bought a 12v DeWalt impact driver about 7 years ago and was never impressed with the power. After the batteries died, I bought a Milwaukee 18v and the power level about quadrupled from the 12v. Now I have the 1/2" impact, a circular saw and a speed ratchet. Looking at the string trimmer, but it's rather spendy. I bought a 4 cycle string trimmer 10 years ago, to reduce emissions from the 2 cycle, but WOW, that thing is heavy.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I use a DeWalt 18v impact driver almost every day. I'd say it's my most used tool outside of tape, pencil, square, maybe even hammer. I bought mine for $20 at a flea market 10 or more years ago. I already had 18v tools, so batteries and chargers. Now I buy cheap imitation batteries and a charger off Ebay, $50 for 2 batteries and a charger. So far so good. I still have one DeWalt battery dated 11/18 that performs as it should. I don't know what way I'll go when it comes time to replace my 18v tools. The 1/2" drill/driver/hammer fell off a step ladder in the cold last Dec. and broke beyond repair. I've been running a cord for drills and the rotary hammer.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I have just about converted from De Walt to Milwaukee 100%. Nothing against the De Walt tool itself but the batteries became so expensive to replace and I had no luck with the brand X knock-off batteries.
I would watch for a sale on De Walt.. eg. 1/2" drill motor, charger and 2 batteries $100 when 2 batteries were $90. Bottom line I had lots of drill motors and few workable batteries as the life span seemed awfully short for the price. The Milwaukee batteries as a whole seem to have a much longer life span, 2/3rds the price and so far the cheap brand X batteries are performing well also. |

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I bought a Milwaukee circular saw and drill driver when they first started making cordless tools many years ago. Neither one cut the mustard. I tried using them for a little while until I actually tossed them in the trash out of disgust. That's when I went to the 18v DeWalts I still use, which was around '95 or '96. That's great Milwaukee finally offers good tools now. I've had a bad taste in my mouth a long time, but with good reviews I'd consider them again. About 10 years ago the Sawzall gave out. We were cutting the skin off a bedside and the housing can in two where the motor attaches to the handle/switch. We finished it up with two guys operating the Sawzall, a cutter and a switch man . That's the only one I've had to replace until the hammer drill fell and broke. 25+ years of commercial use. Can't complain
The deal with the batteries was at Fathers Day and Christmas they'd put out 2-packs. Single 18v batteries were $90 and the 2-packs were $120. I bought all my batteries Nov/Dec or May/June. I refused to buy a single for $90. and now look at what lithium ion batteries cost! Dayum! My son bought some Ryobi tools when he worked at Home Depot. I've been using them around here and they all seem as well made as anything else. No issues in performance and they are a couple years old now. If they are significantly cheaper than the more favored brands I'll switch to them. Plus both of us will have the same batteries and chargers

I first bought a 14v DeWalt drill/driver after the Milwaukees. That was in the late-80s. That was back when cases were steel. The charger went up on that. I used the model# to order a new one but it was for 18v type batteries. DeWalt didn't change anything about the model# when they changed the design . I only ever had the battery that came with it and that was the only cordless tool I had for years. They didn't make much else and most of that was not very good. When DeWalt came out with 18v it changed the cordless game.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I’m really liking the Flex . Has three settings for driving screws tried it on some drywall at #1 setting as per the instructions and it drove it with just a little dimple . There are 3 power levels for screws and 2 power levels just for self drilling screws . I tried the most powerful setting and you really need to hold onto the tool or it’ll spin right out of your hand when the screw is home . Battery is still at 3/4 charge my old one I would have changed out the battery . The tool is a little heavy though .
Tim I have a couple of Ryobi 20v tools that I was given Father’s Day and birthday the drill is ok except the chuck doesn’t stay tight in the bit I find I have to rechuck every few drills . The reciprocating saw works well I gave it to my son because his went south after many hours of abuse for the money there a good tool . I bought a Dewalt 20v to replace it .

Discovered this isn’t for wood . It’s to cut ice blocks from a lake to be stored for summer use.
