I hate to say it too Mike... Every time I see you do something I am like this.... But once I saw the word gold I think my heart skipped a beat and I had a mild stroke. I'm sure your plans are really great... but gold never makes a car/truck look good IMO. I really hope you have thought that one threw...

And please dont take that the wrong way... I have admired your build and been following it for a loooong time. You do great work and have a great eye for detail.

..... gold.....*SNIFF SNIFF* I just shed a tear for your truck.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

LOL....i cant believe i have killed this many with one little word....GOLD, remember guys , my goal here is different and CLASSY, wait until you see all of it come together and tie in with each other ! I am doing a light wood in the bed with just a slight goldish tint to it , The stripe in the trim will be pinstripe tape (easily removed if i dont like it) , the emblems on the fenders wont look good with red in them (in my opinion) so to tie them in with the trim they will be gold in the inset part also. The carpet will be gold and the interior will be bomber jacket looking leather inserted with a unique insert that has a hint of gold in it ! So no gold wheels and no tons of gold just a few accents ! ( i wont do anything i cant change, if i decide i dont like it)

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I have to agree. On some of the trucks with gold rims the gold ties in, but imho with the billet and thit will clash. Maybe one of the body colors in the stripe if you don't want to leave the black.

Posted the above while you were responding. As others mentioned it's your truck to ruin...oh wait...I meant....j/k

I haven't seen your paint in person or been able to hold up gold next to it...I think the leather will be great with your colors and warm up the interior....and some hints of gold can work nicely with leather so I guess I'll reserve judgement until seeing it (too late for that now right

I LOVE the accuair sponsored truck with the gold rims w/ the gold in the trim....so I'm not against Gold in general....

You just said gold 7 times..... That was like running fingernails over a chalk board.

You havent done a single thing wrong to that truck.... so now I am trying to calm myself down and remember you are talented and know what you are doing.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

According to the color of the gold (brightness, reflectivity, flake) I do think it would look classy in moderation!! Kind of an old school kick to such a forward thinking project!!!

Mike, you're too nice you should tell us all to shove off and to forget about pics and updates until we comply! I'm really sorry I mentioned the "G" word...

Okay, maybe just one last bit of fun.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

here is an example of what I think you are doing with the moldings?
wood bed kit color?

Here is a good example of gold color working pretty well with the theme of this local truck here in south florida.

The wood bed and wheels tie it all together.....nice truck and it was the one I was thinking about when I first read about the gold.

I like that option I actually was going to mention that color pending how the test looks and finding out you're using it on the frame makes it even better as a option...

Your exterior colors are on the "cool" pallet....as I said, the leather is going to "warm" up the interior...but that metallic charcoal gray would look good and be just a subtle difference to the black that's in the trim already...one of those subtle touches that's taking this truck from NICE to cover worthy
