Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

For the 250, I asked $500 and got $350 within a few hours. I kept the flywheel, clutch and alternator. I may have left some money on the table, but I just wanted it to go away quickly. The buyer offered $300 and I countered with $350. I would have taken less.

Finally got her out of the weather. Gutted and rebuilt the one car garage. My wife and I started this project over a year ago. But we took some time off to gut and remodel our master bathroom, so this one got delayed. Now safe and secure and dry. Just in time for the rainy season here in Florida.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I found these lying under the truck.

It took an hour and a half for them to fall out.

3 cross members, 2 rear shock mounts, 2 rear bump stops, 2 ball joints and 1 Z-bar mount.

A good air hammer, high pressure from the compressor and a new bit made it fairly easy. Thank you Snap On.

Finally got my rally's swapped out with the new Cucv blazer rims. Got a lot of input from everyone here before choosing route to go. Hubcaps look great on them as well. Thanks all.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I finally took the time to get up under the dash to fix some things.
I hooked up ground wires to the tach an dash panel, and hooked up the wire for my tilt column shift indicator light.
Everything works!
It's been a good day

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Tried to fix my driver door windows. Welded the pivot post back onto the wing window frame, riveted new seals in, welded the kept nut on the rear window track guide, installed new rollers, and now the window won't roll up past 1/2 way

Maybe tomorrow will be profitable. Today was a loss. Mounted/gapped the hood yesterday, so the week has been 50/50, so far.

Awoke this unfinished project and took it for a putt putt through town.

Now that my 4x4 is mobile I need to get back on this.

Today, I finished the New Flxplte and Starter Project. When I hit the key
It sounded better than it ever has. It sounds like a new truck. I also put the Power Plate in my carburetor, and man what a difference! now I have to figure out why my ach is reading low still. But that's another project.

Yesterday I installed the dual snorkel Air Cleaner I got from Rock Auto. I had to to do a couple tweaks like remove the Oil Fill Tube and plug carb hole where hose from heat thing went.

I like that, looks clean. Could you give me the part number or more info? Thanks.

x3 on the dual snorkel air cleaner, very nice!!

Got my new drag link and tie rod ends installed, and I'll have the alignment checked next week. Nice to have the 45-year-old steering parts finally replaced.

Wheel tub in and it looks great, like it was meant to be there. The bottom of the tub is about an 1 1/2" above the fender side and the tire is an inch below the top.

That is pretty trick. I especially like that you did that with the wood bed and making the custom look almost stock in appearance.

Thumbs up Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

3 year old water pump failed. Replaced it with a new one from O-Rielly's. New thermistat and hoses.
I also polished under the hood.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Finished up my oil pressure line tonight. A big shout out to members LockDoc (for the line kit and needed adapter) and TBONE1964 (for an excellent working replacement oil pressure gauge). Everything went together easy and fixed a small oil leak in the process. So nice to get the stock gauges working and and being able to pull out the cheap three gauge under dash panel. Pic is oil gauge at idle.
