Re: What did you do to your truck today?

No truck action today because bought Momma some new couches and rearranged the living room so if she is happy my truck gets happier with more parts. Got one door installed so tomorrow start on the other.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Finished the last of the "mock up" stages. Pulled the body off-out to blasters for clean up,while I finish the chassis. Hopefully, the body will be back in a few days and I'll have the frame ready to be prepped and painted, so will just switch out.

Nothing to the truck itself. But we got the master-engine kit from Northern via brown-truck today

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

What I did today....I drove my truck!!!!!!!!....The first time legally, I took it down for a front end alignment and probably put 30 miles on it or so without any real problems. Except for some awful speedometer cable noise, I unhooked it from the cluster and the noise stopped. What a good day...It was the moment I've been waiting for, for the past 1 1/2 years.

Good for you. It’s a great feeling finally achieving that milestone.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Put the bed in. None of the cross sills were in the right place, so I kind of had to make it work. I drilled new holes in the bed strips and the cross sills and put the hardware in upside down, but it worked and it's ready to haul stuff. It's not the prettiest but it'll do what I need it to.

Also, this is all in my "project Charlotte" build thread.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I got more parts in today and was able to find the hardest part there probably is to track down for the truck just a couple hours from the house.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got the front bumper painted and installed. Drove it around the block a few times and got my first "Hey I love that truck" from the guy in the car next to me within five minutes of driving. All thats left is to paint the bed floor(metal) and get the seat redone. Of corse I have to cut and buff, power steering, disc brakes ---- Damn I thought I was almost done

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Went to fit the drivers door but new rocker was installed to high before I bought the truck, so cut it, lowered it and welded in a piece, welded a piece in the floor and found the inner rocker was missing so fabbed one up, welded in and undercoated everything after the sealer dried, wow, then the door, fit good now. On to the next door and rocker now.

Gettin it together finally, nice to get started, can't wait till paint.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Frame is up on the stands, stripped of all suspension and turned over for welding and cleaning. Body is still at the blasters getting cleaned up. Removed the rear swing arm crossmember and flipped over. Hope to cut the "c" notches tomorrow and box the rear frame section. With any luck I may get the rear air bag brackets cut out also.
