Woohoo !

Took me 72 out for a cross town trip. I followed the tow truck hauling my 54 to me buddies shop.

My drivebility problems was the carb. A 45 mile round trip on the freeway in the heat of the day and it ran prefectly !

Both windows down, no a/c, 70mph, 196deg, 50% humidity, truck having no issues ...... PRICELESS !

Took my truck on it's first drive. It was from my shop to the house (about a 100 feet) for it's first bath.

Cool Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Two part story here.

1st,
I registered for the 2013 Hot Rod pour tour this morning! YeeeeeHaaa!

2nd.
I took the 71 over to my buddies shop and he put it up on the rack to find the oil leaks! 3 of them. Rear main, front main and intake all are leaking. Ordered the seals and gasket's to fix all of it. Got to get it ready for the Tour in June.
I have some more small problems but I can take care of those once I'm back walking.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Got some goodies in the mail for her. Pulled the tired 307 to get the engine bay cleaned up, painted, and ready for its new Boosted 383 Stroker Heart!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got the seats all bolted in. The seatbelts all fabbed and installed, under the hood cleaned up (needed to re-route a couple of plug wires..no, actually, I needed to
Dremmel tool a little aluminum off of the plug wire channel on one wire).

A friend stopped by with a present. A few years ago, I sold my '72, without the tonneau cover. I gave it to a friend. His brother talked him out of it.
Now, neither the brother nor the friend has a truck. So, guess who got the cover back!!!!

Look how those Blazer seats fit on the passenger side. The trim around the bottom is an exact fit for the mounting "hump" on the floor of our trucks!

I'm just fa$&ing around while the California DMV decides they have enough money from me to send me my tags. Then, off to the Exhaust Man...
...then a front wheel alignment...then the Air Conditioning Service man to charge up my brand-new Vintage Air system...
Then, I get to have a real truck to drive again!!!!!

Thanks! I'm beyond psyched to get this done. I'm going to run the 18/20" TT2's that were on my previous truck for the time being, and save up for something in a 20/22" combo. Thought about steelies because I like that look, including the Delmo-fied version, but even though many people have Torque Thrusts on all kinds of vehicles, they still look good and they're right there looking at me.

Nice, the torque thrusts will look awesome on there. One of my favorite wheels ever. Do you plan on tubbing the bedsides.
