That Pontiac 326 has to be one of the most inefficient V8's ever made. I had the same block with a little 2-brl carb in my '67 Firebird when I bought it and I got much better mileage from the built 400 w/ quad carb I replaced it with. The SB Chevy should do you much better mileage-wise!

Just go this 1970 CST k20
I know I might have paid a bit too much for it, $5k, but I have always wanted one with these options. I was stocked to find it. From my understanding, the 1970 CST's are pretty rare partly due to the UAW strike in 1970. Yes, it might be ugly to some, but I love it. I can't wait to change out that blue seat!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Thanks, I have no remorse. There are some really nice rigs on this site. It took me three days to go through all the pages on this thread. Love them all.
By the way, does anyone know where I can get a front bumper winch mount for my truck? It is hard to find anything that fits 1970 stuff. |

You are probably going to have to find a vintage winch set up to copy. Let me know if that is the route you take, I know a member here that has a really clean vintage winch that he could probably take pictures of for you to copy?

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Yes, .. sure was mocajoes. Very nice! I'm an old Camaro guy too. I have restored two but I had to get out of them. They just got too expensive for me. Most everyone is building them now just to see what they can get for them on auction. Just not many people building them to keep anymore. .. un-like the 67-72 guys I have talked to so far. As most of them are, I'm building my 69/68 to keep.
I can understand building 100 point show cars, don't get me wrong but with Camaros I found it was mostly about numbers, the right distributor, the right this and that and it had to be 'correct' in someone else's eyes for them to like it. I just want to build something for me, and what I like that I can pass to my son one day. But, I'm still diggin your Camaro though! One of my all time favorite colors too. Later.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
That is awesome! The camaro in the photo is actually my dads 69 z/28 he has had it for years it's a driver, he drives it on roads trips etc. It has the original dz 302. He wants to drive it not show it. It is partially mine but that is another story. I have 3 swb 4x4s I love em all I drive one offroad with out tearing it up. I have my favorite 70 swb 4x4 cst factory
air, tach, buckets, 4 speed. I am the second owner. drives like new. Until I totaled it, brake failure hit a rock to stop it rolled it. right before I started my resto. just lifted it and new exhaust. I cried. yep 37 yrs. old and cried. Ill post a pic of that one soon. Thanks Luv u guys' interests |
