Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Removed the rotted out package tray, cleaned up under it, painted it with rust-oleum all over to prepare to install the rear window. It had several rusted out holes but nothing major and not near the pinch weld. So i just made sure to clean it and paint it under and above. Once it dries I should be pretty much all set to go.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

got the rear window in today. Still have to put urethane in between the glass and the gasket (on both) but the pinch weld has beading compound all over it. Slowly but surely.. Also the weekend storm killed the shelter/paint booth i was leaving up to protect her so she back in just a carport again

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Nothing says end of the year like end of the year sales and year end bonus!
So i put in a nice order for the stang:

TMI Black Uni-suede one piece headliner
Scott Drake Full Lock Set
2" H Pipe Dual Exhaust with Turbo Mufflers
Shelby Style Front Valance
GT Rear Valance
Screw sets for both Valances
Chockostang Front Disc Conversion Kit!

BOOM! Cant wait for the parts to arrive for the new year

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Wow, that must have been a hell of a nice bonus! Congrats!

You'll love the disc brakes. I had some SCARY test drives with drum brake cars (65/66's) when I jumped in mine (factory disc brake car) HUGE difference!

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Meh nothing too expensive but combined with my check it gave me play room. Plus the end of the year sale helped out big time! The headliner and exhaust were both discounted almost $100

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Scored 02 Mustang seats for $65 at pull a part.

$30 in spacers, bolts, washers, lock washers, nuts, and a drill bit later i installed the brackets from my 70s seats on them.

One was power and one was manual so it was different for both. Had to use 1" spacers on the power and about 1/4" spacer on the manual. Only needed to drill 2 holes on each though.

Awesome! Very nicely done and it should be a fun install. I love that everyone says great things about him and his customer service. So i will try to do it myself and see how it goes. Ask him questions as long as my buddies on here when stuff arises.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Cool~ I have that same front valance! Sometimes I wish I hadn't extended the stripes into that area, but they're there to stay! It's a nice upgrade to your Stang with minimal work involved! However, I wish I had of figured out a way to relocate the hood latch bracket or modify it so I wouldn't have had to cut the valance~ hindsight~! lol

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Thanks everyone! Another good day. My Disc Brake Conversion kit arrived and so did my gift card from cjponyparts. So I ordered a package tray for the price left on the gift card. On top of that my insurance finally went down since the tickets i got a few years ago in my old 05 Mustang GT lol Yeah!!!

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Very nice work and the new parts will get you that much closer! Those newer seats fit real nice in there. I think I'm going to have to put one of those valances on my Mom's 68.... They look sweet!!!
