Have you checked the front alternator bearing? They go out quite often and squeel like a loose belt.

Glad you like the new front suspension. I bet it was night and day different. I thought about welding up my trailing arms but backed out. I may do it one of these days. Looking forward to some pictures

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

Hey that looks great Ben! I kinda wish I had welded my arms up too while it was out and cleaned up. Oh well I have a few sets around I can swap them out at anytime. I can't wait to actually get mine to the point of driving.
Your welds look good on the exhaust too. Keep the pictures coming.

Interested in a front sway bar. Does it make a big difference? Also did you have to drill the holes in the lower control arms?
Thanks

I'd guess LOTS of driving with your arm out the window will rub the paint off and let it rust. This is the only time I have seen it.

Swaybar is a CPP 1.25" bar. It made a huge difference and install wasn't bad. The end links use one of the factory sway bar mount holes. They include a ~1.25" spacer for the end links, but with it installed the end links hit the tie rods. Threw the spacer out and cut a few more threads on the end link bolts so I could tighten them. You also need to knock out the two rivets that hold the front frame crossmember in to be able to bolt the brackets in.

Thanks! Knowing what I know now, I would have never bought this truck and bought one from your area

Good progress on the install. You'll make a lot of the "purists" here cuss or cry when they see pictures #2 and #3 (perfect uncut then cut dash)

I was thinking that when I took those pics

If this were a all original truck I would not have done it, but considering what all I have already done to the truck and its condition, I had no problem firing up the jig saw

Nice work Ben! I am thinking about going with one of those old school looking radios to avoid cutting my new dash.
