Re: Restored Vent Windows

Id like to get on the list to have mine done. Im wanting to keep my original glass because of the date codes. I guess I can keep the glass and put back in when the hardware comes back?

Re: Restored Vent Windows

Hi Rodger, I am interested in a set of chrome vent windows. I have some original tinted glass that I would like to send you and use in them. Is it. Okay?

What kind of turnaround are you looking at right now?

Re: Restored Vent Windows

I reached out to Roger earlier in summer and he thought he could do mine, spoke to him about 2 weeks ago and he told me he was no longer doing them. Unfortunetly I had mine packaged and ready to send. I even told him I didnt need until Spring and he still turned down job.

Anyone else rebuilding these?

I'm still fighting health issues and my doctors can not find a solution. As a result I only restoring 2 sets left from my previous set of 12. At this time I don't know if I'll restores any more of them. Time will tell. So if you want one of 2 sets let me know.

I use Classic Parts of America. They used a gm part to reproduse it. I've compared what they manufacture against an NOS one. Its dead on. I've tried other vent window rubber but they have issues.

Re: Restored Vent Windows

I figured you'd be on top of that, I was reading another post about Vent windows and seals from different places (Precision Premium Automotive vs United via Classic Parts). Might be worth while to have that in your Post #1 for your Seal Vendor. Odd that PRP are not quite right, they have such other good stuff.

BTW, I have been very happy with the Vents you sent me for my truck :-)

Re: Restored Vent Windows

Do you have a price for a rebuild with new weatherstrip/hardware as required (no glass or rechroming)?
