Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Mock up photos of Donnie's '57 long bed now a short bed. Keep in mind what you see in the photos with the Jag set up is only mock up. What will be different from most Jag installations is that Donnie is going to preform surgery on the rear of the frame and graft in the Jag cage assembly. Kabwe and Donnie working out the details as far as how much to cut out of the frame. Donnie can't stress it enough no matter how much work it takes this thing has to sit LOW!! ..... OHH DID I MENTION? , IT HAS TO BE LOW.

One thing is certain Donnie has enough toys in the garage to get the job done.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Some of the repair challenges that Donnie has to deal with. No easy way to tackle that dent when you got a metal bulk type head in the way. He said he might cut that section out and straighten out or replace it. Despite how the pictures look of the interior the is not that bad of shape very little cancer.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
The first photo you see is right after he installed the Jag clip. Donnie was disappointed coz it stat too high
The front Jag suspension fit into place with a few surgical cuts but decided it wasn't low enough so after I took these photos he notched the frame a little more to get a lower stance. I will try to get some more recent photos soon.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
I am not certain I will have to ask him. At the time I took this photo below he said he was going to notch it one more inch.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Regarding Donnies '57 Chevy long bed now short bed truck with front and rear Jag suspension. Donnie notched the frame a total of 3 inches. The first two photos are before and after shots when he first installed the clip but decided it wasn't low enough so he took it back out and took 1 more inch out of the frame. It's not completely welded in yet coz he is still working on the rear suspension.
LOL PRETTY SOON I will have to call my page "Donnie's '57 project page"

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Did you get Donnie's permission to post these pics because you sure did not get mine to post those pics of me. That is why your camera is not allowed at my house anymore.lol
Everything seems to be coming together nicely, I have to make it by Donnie's house to see what he is up to. |

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
I haven't forgotten about my own truck, doing a lot of mock up work on my new bed just haven't felt the need to post photos of every step I take. AND NO KABWE the cardboard is a template not the finished work.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
The interior is almost done will be getting new one piece windows and hardware soon (manual not power) and when money allows I will be changing the water, oil, amp , fuel gauges to match the Auto Meter tach and speed-o gauges/bezels. Then and now shots of the interior, nothing fancy just bare bones simple stuff.
