Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

WOW, another night full of nothing but aggrivation, dealing with stupid parts people, sweating my ass off and making absolutely no progress what so ever. I am sooooooo close to parting this thing out it's not even funny.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Don't get discouraged buddy. Maybe I need to come up there one weekend and we can get aggravated together working on it. Everything will work out. It always does right? Now enough of the pep talk. What did you try to get done and couldn't get parts for. Did you get anything done to tell is about.

Seriously though I could come up there one weekend and help out

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Man I didnt get crap done. Ordered the cab and core support mounts a while ago. Came in today and they arent even close. I got so pissed I threw them in the dumpster at work today. Then had to get them out so I could send them back. Then, I called a local place to have some u-bolts made. 5/8 diameter, 3 1/4 inside width and a 6 1/2 inch leg length. That is exactly what they have on the work order and recepit and all. Wel I opened the box when I got home and they are 1/2 inch diameter. They will not work with my spring plates at all. But whats worse is they put 5/8 nuts in the box with the bolts and 9/16 washers? How they didnt notice they are THREE totally diffrent sizes is beyond me??? It just seems like every time I go out there it's something else. I think a two or three week time away from the truck is in order.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

I believe the wheels will stay for now. I wish I would have just put a big block and a turbo 400 in it. Dern thing would be done by now. I think just seeing it sitting there going together sooooo slowly is just starting to bother me. I bet I could sell the 6.0, 4l80e and harness and buy a 454/th400 pretty easily!

Definitely sit on it and come back to it later. When things are frustrating, it's always better for me to step back and walk away a d come back to it later. Things mst times seem to fall into place easily then

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

I know man. I would LOVE to have my 72 Super back. I hd ALOOOOOT of money tied up in that one. Well, against my better judgement I went out to work on the truck tonight. Glad I did. The parts people FINALLY got my
U-Bolts right so I got the 12 bolt rear axle installed I picked up from silvereagle07. (will paint when rebuild it even hough it looks good already) Leafs are painted and installed, shocks and wheels back on and rolling again. Glad to see it looking almost like a truck again. That damn cab is going on soon I swear! I know, pics or it didnt happen.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

There ya go. Step back, breathe some different air. Then go back in, give it a swift kick in the nards (or tires, that might be less painful for you), and let it know who is in charge, and that you intend on driving the snot out of him real soon regardless of what his plans are.

While you are doing that, I'll go change my bong water. It must be getting stale.....

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

You worried me there for a minute! Glad the rearend install finally happened. You getting really close, and imagine how cool it's going to be to go to some oil change joint and watch those guys ogle when they see the truck and then realize whats going on under the hood.

The peices of the truck look great!

Try not to get too discouraged, I know how you feel though, it took 3 different engines and 2 trannies in my truck before I got her actually on the road.

Jeramy, I'll be sure to bring it by to get the services done. Will be needing a 90K after a few thousand miles.
