it is the proportioning valve. the front and rear brake lines coming out of the master cylinder go into it. the front lines go free flow directly to the front calibers. the rear port will go to the rear brake cylinders but i can adjust the brake biast or amount of braking power the rear wheels will have. normally on these trucks with the stock proportioning valve the rear wheels will lock up before the front, this will prevent that from happening once i get it adjusted.

Basically controls the amount of braking to front and rear wheels. Normally a percentage like 70/30. Some folks will even run one per wheel (mostly road race stuff though)

well been working on the brakelines here and there. you can see my thougths of the jegs powdercoated brakeline! good thing it was $35! i found some of the nicopp line and it is the best thing since sliced bread! bents easy, flares easy and the absolutely coolest thing is it polishes up to a super neat finish! i have been clearing the pieces once i bend and polish. got the rear done and the mc to prop valve pcs done. also powdercoated several parts, master cylinder brakcets brake pedal brackets and throttle lines.

can some one tell me if the brake pedal push rod bracket mounts with the flat side towards the mc or the rounded end? it can be mounted either way and could not remember which way it went so i mounted it with the flat side towards the mc so it was a wider area on the rubber boot. i think that once i have a full pedal it should not touch?? any help would be great.

mike, i had gotten the powder coated kit. all around it was a pain! if you cleaned of the coated like they said it would end up to small for the vise/dye to grab. if you left it on and sinched the crap out of it it would walk a little and then flare was horrible! i could not get a good flare period! i even started a thread and used every suggestion and the only good one i came up with that worked for me was the smokin' NICOPP!! it is awesome!

i have gotten somethings done though. i have it that i can drive it under its own power which is super sweet, no more pushing around! that was one goal was to try and get it so i can move it around. the brake lines all done and very pleased how they turned out. the best part was they bleed themselves! i had opened the bleeders farthest from the mc to help get the fluid moving and it ran freely all over! tightened them up and checked the pedal for feel and believe it or not full pedal! the brakes feel great and work great so far. the clutch set up works great and feels really good also. next was the rebuilding the steering column and every thing turned out great!
the one pic is of a streering column foam?? not sure if i ordered or it got tossed in my order but d not remember were one would go any help would be great.
finally my mind has been running with two toning the top. off white or possibly a shade or two off of the main color. i was thinking i could fix/sand my seam sealer cuase it is really buggin me and would like to fix it. figure this would be the easist way to fix it but dont know whether to go suttle or completely noticable color/white. any input is very welcomed, hard to see in pic but you get the idea.

well, i have been looking for a ford 8n/2n/9n for years! here at a family reunion over the 4th of july i found out my cousin had 1939 9n for her farm. i told her if ever interested in selling let me know. well here she is selling her farm and called me and asked if i was still interested and as you can see i was. i got a heck of a deal! got the tractor and a 5' bush hog also. all she needs is a tune up and obviously a new tube in the flat tire. the tire that is flat is dry roughted but i think with a tube i should be able to get some more use out of it, seeing how just one rear tire is $320ea! if not i will be shopping craigslist for a used one.

Nice! Those are good tractors! My Dad has a 9N for plowing snow and the garden. Its always been dependable.

no resto for a long time! trust me, i already have visions but this will be for work! i am planning on replanting the largest horse pasture and then the two small ones. it will be nice to be able to cut grass in a 5' swath and not have to worry about what i hit! i hope to find some impliments for it but know they are getting hard to find and pricey.
