Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Can't believe the distributor cap died on my truck just sitting home in the driveway but thanks to Canadian Tire being open on Sunday and a drive there from a family member we were mobile again within an hour. After the swap to a new cap and rotor I tested the old cap and found ZERO continuity between the coil wire post and the button inside that sits on the rotor. Never saw anything like that before....

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
I painted the grille. Paint was fading off and needed freshening up. I got new lights and lenses since those were all dulled out and lights far from clear. I used the same charcoal color I put on the wheels. I wanted the grille to still look factory while matching the wheels. I was originally trying to match wheels to grille but came out darker. I like the grille a touch darker, kinda like the W/T grille but lighter. Last fall I put a new third brake light and tail lamps in to freshen up the rear.
Before. Can't tell how bad the paint is faded off, but dull and aged looking for sure: Freshened up. A minor thing, but all lenses on truck now are clear and fresh: Just keeping 'er alive with a touch of pride

Picked up a set of used firestone tires from my friend's garage and installed them on my truck. Got an alignment also.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Phase 1 of front-end work done this weekend. Grilled pulled apart, buffed/polished/waxed, lights replaced with 'Eagle Eye' OEM style replacements off Amazon. Might be able to see again while driving after dark now.
Picked up a brand front and rear bumper off Craigslist for $150 total last week also, looked up model numbers on Summit and Amazon - normally $750-$850 for same bumpers there. Now waiting on replacement rub strip for front bumper and hoping to score a pre-painted green grille and filler piece that sits between grille and bumper before going there. Some before/after action:

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??
Changed the brakes and one rotor the other day and noticed the upper control arm bushings are worn out on the drivers side. Then I noticed the control arm is also rusted by one bushing and needs to be replaced entirely. Then I noticed one of the bolts is missing the offset washer which is causing it to move around even more. Picked some up at the junkyard.

Re: What did you do to your truck today??
Changed the control arm. The bushings weren't even that bad. The movement from the missing washer distorted the control arm. As usual found another bad part while working on it. The pitman arm is loose on the shaft and the nut is all the way tight. I think it's the shaft not the arm.
