LOL That's a little low for me! Even with drag blocks that makes me nervous! Although it looks pretty cool when you use different types of metal and throw different color sparks!

Thanks! But thats ok the only time it will ever be low enough to hit them is at a show.

I am going to build some bumpstops and weld them in so that I dont knock my fenders out of alignment.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Adam, what wheels and tires are you running? They look like later model steelies, I would have thought they would have tucked right in there.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

The fronts wheels are off of a 71 C10 I also switched to McGaughy drop spindles and a front wheel disc for a 71-72 which push the wheels out a little. The tires are a 225/75R15 which are what the original owner put on the '67 wheels 6 months before I bought it

Thanks! Trying to make a wheel choice, since the ones I have lack enough backspacing.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Well, here is what I have to show for sat. afternoon and sun afternoon. I finished installing the entire vintage air system, except for a few wires which will be dealt with next weekend when my buddy Josh comes to wire the entire truck. And I got the front wheel tubs stripped and repainted. I was going to paint them to match the exterior paint but I actually think for now I like the black better, tones the engine bay down a little. I can always paint a set of slosh tubz to match the exterior when I have a little more cash down the road.
I also got the front shocks installed, I just need to find my glove box door latch now so I dont have to hold it up.

Killer gauge cluster and yes all that gourgeous blue next to that sweet motor would make accidents of passerby's falling into your engine bay at shows when staring too long

Adam- you'd be proud. I'm waiting for my Porterbuilt suspension components, twin viair 444 compressors, and a/c system to arrive as we speak. I also spent about 45 mins on the phone today with Tom Lowe, getting things together and making decisions about how to best configure my TURBO! I feel a little wired after spending so much money this week, so I stopped by your build to see what was going on. Your truck is looking great! I really like the way the black tubs break up the engine compartment. I am encouraged by your progress. I plan to start pulling my engine Tuesday after work. I can't wait to watch your build come to a head!!

That is awesome!!! Tom is a great source of knowledge to get you started I would also recommend spending some time and creating an account at www.theturboforums.com as they are also a great source of knowledge and experience for some of the little things that are turbo specific. If you need help finding a good turbo let me know. I have help set up a number of vehicles now, and usually am able to help find some guys better prices on their stuff. Either way if I can be of any help let me know! And stellar on the suspension! I didnt have that kind of cash, but if I did I would buy it as PB makes some great quality stuff!

talking about parts orders, I've been going over my list double checking and I just know I will forget something.lol plus I dont have the moolah to get everything I need on one order, so I have to prioritize. also went by my engine builders yesterday, and showed him your build thread from page one to current. I like the color of the under coating. What brand did you use? I was hoping to find a brand that could be tinted. It looks real good from here. Keep it up.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

I used Keystone's spray on liner, and I absolutely HATE the stuff, and regret spraying it on due to the poor quality of the liner. I used this stuff (link below) on the inside and absolutely LOVE it, super high quality and at the same price. And the customer support is top notch! Both from the manufacturer and this retailer. I know a few other people who use this on their 4x4's and have had better luck with this standing up to the off road abuse better than line-x. I used two gallons on the inside of the cab for the desired thickness, but on the exterior for the bottom I would recommend 1 gallon, and you can order any color just use single stage urethane paint of your paint code instead of their color, and use 16oz instead of their 8oz of color pigment to tint to your desired color. I would also recommend buying the special spray gun/ hopper for it.
