I meant that model wagon... in a joking way

While I'm here, how about this pair of Hornets, Plain Jane and Sporty. Kind of like early crossovers

Ok, let's communicate here . I was being sarcastic saying that model of wagon was a common sight in my area when I was young. I also said my grandmother drove a sublime green with purple flame Chrysler sedan delivery like the one shown. Both vehicles shown are obviously one-off truly custom creations. Neither of my grandmothers ever drove

Re: Pic Thread: Station Wagons

This thread bothers me in the fact that all these old cars had such beautiful styling. Now days there's just cookie cutter crapola. Nothing interesting like the old days when even a station wagon looked cool.

I remember being driven home from school in my friends mom's Vista Cruiser .It was cool, it had the windows in the roof. I had such a crush on his mom. She was the hot mom. She had the wagon and a Jaguar XKE. And she looked really good in both of them. I was just a dumb kid, but I'll never forget her. Whoa!

My latest. I'm going to paint the hood black so it looks like a race car.

Like I needed another project.

Re: Pic Thread: Station Wagons

From a wrecking yard I visited a couple years ago. 3 Safari wagons all were 455 cars.
And an early screaming chicken installation.

I had a friend who owed a 68 like last picture. It was verdoro green. Super cool car with factory bucket seats, no console, 4 speed, AC, disc brakes, a posi 12 bolt and with a 428! He every bit of paperwork from day one. I tried several times to buy it from him to no avail.

Just find yourself a matching GTX hood. Black paint is expensive

I'll go get one right now. How hard can a GTX hood for a 73 Satellite be to find?

That is my biggest problem with the wagon... No parts. Mechanical yes but cosmetic, Eh???? Not so much. Just like my Packard. We get spoiled with our trucks. You may not like the price of parts but you can get them,

You know, I had that problem with the '55 Chevy 4dr wagon I had. I had all the Tri-5 catalogs and parts connections, but the wagon specific parts were made of nonobtainium. It needed a gas tank, none made. No interior door panels, side moldings. Only parts available were the ones that were the same as the coupes and sedans. This was years ago, so not sure about now.

Speaking of Olds wagons

The cars that Heller fella builds would look a whole lot better with a custom wheel and tire set up from the era the car wants to be. Im not talking about wide white walls and lancer caps. More of the piner thin white walls and maybe some Radirs

I did work for a builder into the '90s who always drove a Caprice Kingswood Estate. He got a new one every few years.

Here are some Plymouths for you (and a Dodge)

I had 2 friends in high school with station wagons. A Vista Cruiser and a Rambler. The rambler was really something in the woods. It was the vehicle of choice for our hidden keg parties.
