I am getting it done locally here in Vacaville at a Maaco shop. He has been doing a lot of the local hot rods lately. The painter does a good job and he has a few good body men working for him to get the job done. |

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!
Well I talked to the painter today and they said they are going to prime the truck by the end of the day today and then get the inside fo the truck jammed along with the doors, fenders and hood jammed too. Now I need to find a place to put it.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!
I am using the blue from the Dodge truck and maybe gray or silver for the top to break it up. I have used other shops for soem other projects that I have done before and it is always the prep that makes the paint job look good. I make sure to blast the vehicle and try and find the best sheet metal that I can so that they have a good start. I am not trying to build a show car, both of the trucks will be used all the time I hope. Once they are done they should never see atrailer again I hope.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!
Well the inside of the cab has been painted, no more changing my mind about the color. The doors were removed for painting and the fenders and hood were also jammed too. I now get to start puttign it back together.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!
Well they grew them on trees out here, big heavy branches too. I am getting too old to be pushing this thing around. It needs a motor or a younger owner. I even have 2 grandchildren that do not want to help, just want to sit in the truck. I can't wait until they get a job.

I have the truck at home right now, working on the 67 extended cab to get the interior done. I will be mocking up the motor in the crew cab soon.

Re: Project Penicillin~ 68 crewcab build up!
That is super nice! You have alot of endurance to stick with this build. I can't even image the hours in this trucks. I'm tired after just reading the thread.
I've always been against having a 4wd & not putting it in the mud. But you better not this one,it's way to nice to do that!
