The sleeper is only temporary. I know it should come off, but I was 18 when they came out and I've always liked them on the old square bodies.

I plan on changing the round headlights to the '80 square frontend tonight. I put factory buckets in it too that I had recovered 20yrs ago. I also installed a hidden hitch. I've got lots to do to it in the future, but for now, she's a driver.
Beautiful truck! I love the color combination!

Beautiful truck. I understand your passion for the sleeper, but it over powers the truck.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

The round eyes are still there. I needed to paint the other lower valence before I change over to the other front end...DOH!!

I want to install a newer srw w/the chrome insert and the iconic 80's full rear plastic visor once I take the bunk off.

YES, I'm a child of the late 70's, early 80's!!

Interior pics at a later date.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

First picture post. My 1983 Silverado. 350/350. True dual exhaust off of factory manifolds. New tires. Plans are 4/5 lowered. It may be a while before that though. My daily for the last 5 years has been an S10 and 5 years before that a 1995 Nissan p/u. I am enjoying sitting up a little higher for now.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

I bought it as is, its a 5.3 and 4l60e from an 02 truck. The conversion was done at a local shop using a psi conversion harness. Doesn't seem like a bad swap. It has all autometer guages so that was simple too

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Its got 3.73s in it. Its good for now but I may go lower to a 4.10 or 4.56 later on. I'm gonna be gone with some taller tires pretty soon.

Jwall I love the truck, I've been checking it out on Instagram. What's your wheel tire and suspension setup?
