Re: Show us your projects
lol
This is how he had the bumper "welded" on. I use the term welded loosely. We redid it today, this pic is before cleaning things up and painting. I bounced up and down on it and it stayed on this time. Made the trans mount today also. Got a lot fo the wiring done today and the seats installed also... but no pics of those yet. |

Got the dash in and it's a big improvement over the sheet metal contraption he had in it...

Re: Show us your projects
Way cool! I like that you didn't try to make a 1/2 ton pick up out of it.

Buggy-
What a sweet tow pig....I love the color combo. I'm sure it will take forever to get where you are going because people will stop to ask all about it. Too cool. Marc

Here is a few picks of my 51 GMC. Anyone with any ideas for this let me know. I'd like to put a big block in it and fix the body.

Re: Show us your projects
Our 48 truck. We bought it back in January (from a photo and had a mate look at it for us) and then gave him a list of improvements that it needs. Mate is 600 miles from here so we have only seen the truck a couple of times.
It came with Jag suspension front and rear, and since buying it we have had the following done to it (by the same mate): a new heater fitted (From a Toyota) fitted two speed wipers (from a Jag) remounted the Jag rear end replaced the 6 with a 350/700R4 combo replaced gas tank in cab with s/s one under the bed replaced the steering column fitted rear pan Rewired about 80% of the truck replaced front bumper fitted new lap & diagonal seatbelts fitted new burst proof door locks fitted a towbar (not in photos yet) get re-certified (NZ car law) Anyway, heres some pikkys of the truck |

My 57' project
Here is my 1957 1/2 ton stepside big window project. The truck used to be a "cruise night" rig and was taken off the road in the late 90's for the 77' Camaro IFS upgrade. The truck has not seen pavement since that time. I am getting married next July and striving to get this truck road worthy! All I'm shooting for is a reliable driver........ cosmetics later. I already have a 283cid and TH350 transmission ready to dump in. The theme is resto-rod 50's style.

Re: Show us your projects
That is dialed, a tow rig that stands out more then any high dollar new one ever could and not just anyone could just plunk down the cash for. Unless you sell it?
Good stuff! |
