Cool truck Hot68gmc. Have you ran it at the track? How fast is it? Tell us more about it.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
Thanks! So far it's gone 13.24@103 on a pump gas tune and at 5280 ft up. I'm hoping once the suspension is set up for the track and not street it'll dip 12's.. Spins like a motha off the line right now.
It's running a 384 small block, 11.8:1 compression, custom FTI cam, Canfield 217cc/64cc heads, Brodix HV1000 manifold, Quick Fuel 1050 carb, forged bottom end from Eagle/Probe, Hooker headers, 3" manderal bent exhaust system with SpinTech mufflers. Hughes Competition TH350, manual valve body, fwd pattern, Hughes 10" 4100 stall converter. 3/4 ton Dana 60 rear end, 4:10 gears. Front suspension consists of Moog ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. ECE drop springs, drop spindles, 3/4-1/2 ton conversion, disc brakes. The rear has a custom 4-link with Aldan Eagle coil overs. The body is all steel. Complete interior. It's driven on the street to work and back every day and hauls my 3 year old daughter to grandmas house!

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
Thanks for the good words! The tires in the photos are 28x11.5x16 MT ET Streets. I've since gone to a 295x50x16 Hoosier Drag Radial.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
as far as horse power numbers go, it's never been on a dyno.. When we built the engine we estimated it at 490 hp and 508 lb/ft at the crank.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
I put the drag radials on it right when our racing season ended this year so it hasn't been on the track with them yet. The nitrous kit came off of the truck and went on my wife's camaro. Never got the chance to run it on the button.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
I probably don't fit in with these rocket ships but here is my 54. It's got a 489 with Brodix heads and a mighty Demon 850. Continental 3'000stall converter, turbo 400, and a 9" with 4.56 gears. It has about 500 miles on it and I just drive it on the weekends. I did 95% of it in my 2 car garage. I run 31x18.50x15 MT Sportsmans which seem kind of hard. Will probably go to same size Hoosier radials in the future. There are some outstanding trucks on these pages. I have a few more things to do before I'm done but at least it's on the road. Best wishes to all of you out there.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.
Thanks for the kind words. The shifter is from Precision Performance Products in Cerritos California. My model is the Kwik Shift 1. Each one is built by hand one at a time. I went to the shop and picked mine up. He assembled it while I waited. Great shifter. There are other models and attachments available. I added a piece of 5x7 mirror finish stainless to raise the shifter off the floor. Their web site is
precisionperformance.com. Hope this helps. |
