I’ve never had any issues with Richmond’s. Any car I’ve ever put a set of gears into usually had a pretty loud exhaust! Lol

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!

Get your headers/manifolds fitted because that’s what has me STUCK on my motor position finalizing. My BBC is just low enough that I can’t find $hit that’ll fit and I’m stuck waiting on Nate or fabbing them myself (which I guess will be the case & that’s really frustrating that PB doesn’t seem to give a d@mn).

Ya I’ve already built and fit a set of headers to this engine height. The factory bbc truck manifolds also fit with lots of room but I’ve been trying to track down a set of 1970 ls6 exhaust manifolds. Once I get my hands on a some I would like to set engine height to those if I decide to scrap the header idea? I feel your pain with PB leaving you hanging!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!

So the engine sitting high has been bothering me and I want to get it a little lower! I decided to refit my headers and a factory set of exhaust manifolds. I don't have much clearance with the headers left ( I already knew that from when i modified them to fit ) but once I put the manifolds in there I realized I've got tons of room and can easily go down about 1.5"+ Since I've been leaning towards factory manifolds lately I'm going to hunt down a set of 70s High-Perf Chevelle or Camaro manifolds. (they will probably out perform my headers anyway) without all the leaks and high engine bay temps!

You’re motor looks like it sits about 1.5”+ higher than mine. My serpentine crank pulley (about 6’ish inches in diameter) is same height as the crossmember in front of it.

Oh ya I’m definitely going to drop the motor after seeing that. That’s a good reference pic! Thanks!

You bet!!! I’ve gotta come up about an inch from looking at yours. For reference, my 700r4 fits with a low hump with about 1/2” of clearance.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!

I was going to comment the other day, and got interrupted....the factory big block frames are not as wide at the top, where your headers are potentially having clearance issues. i did not know this, was reading a thread here about some of the different things on these pickups...

Carry On, great to see a factory looking big block in one of these. I plan to do the same on my 68, when that day comes...I have the original grungy somewhat rusted original valve covers, that I am thinking about installing. Yous look much better!!! I also have 2 sets in much better shape...

That big block sure looks good on that frame though. Keep it up!

Hmmm interesting! I’ve never heard that before. The frame rails in this truck are from a C20 and when I compared them to the factory 67 rails there were no differences other than the steering box location. But I’ve never had a factory big block frame so can’t really say.

I'm down with the LS6 replication! Good job nailing details (like the single Tonawanda decal). How about some Cowl induction?

Oh ya that’s a good looking big block! I’ve been keeping my eye out for the cowl induction air cleaner setup but haven’t found one yet!

Although I have not seen my stock 396 manifolds in a while (they are in the garage...somewhere...) those look VERY close to what came on my stock 396 in my 68!!! Yours look even better, mine have the air injection holes in them...

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!

The passengers side are almost all the same on the 60-70s big blocks but it’s the drivers side that’s the different hard to find one. The truck ones dump at a different angle and don’t hug the block as tight as the car manifold. In my case I need that to clear the choppin block front crossmember and the steering shaft to the rack.
