Thanks Johnny ! the clock will go in the cluster where the vac gauge would go. as far as the orders, here goes...
LH door latch mech, chrome door lock knobs, vent window repair kit,(already have all my rubber seals) ignition bezel, lower door carpet, sun visors, dash knob bezels, turn signal lever, ash tray/glove box bumpers, glove box insert, lower steering column bearing. I think I have an Ice Machine sold ! as soon as that deal is sealed, I can get my 5 lug axles, brake drums, master cyl. prop valve, power steering pump/brackets/hoses. after all that I'll only need a windshield, stereo, and maybe some wheels down the road.

Re: 68' Chevy c10

Exciting! You'll have to share your vent window adventure. I pulled mine from the doors and stashed them away. The rubber kit I got from GMC Pauls comes with new rubber bits, but I haven't looked any further into it or ordered the repair kit. Not sure If I need it???

John you might save some coin if you get the rear axles, drums, backing plates and brakes from a 71 or 72 that is what I did on my 70. The only thing I bought new was the shoes, spring kit and new axel bearings just so there wasn't any failure later down the road

Thanks Johnny ! not much done this weekend. I love this site ! havent been a member for very long, but everyone here seems like one giant family. willing to help out with problems or encouraging words to keep us motivated. On another note, I was thinking of putting the chevelle pics I have in the "alternate tinkerings" thread.

Finally ordered LEDs for gauges and dome light. I'll be putting in a couple more parts orders today ! also picked up a clock out of a mid 80s chevy truck from the boneyard yesterday.... $7.50 and it works too.

Re: 68' Chevy c10

Ordered my repair kit and am going today to grab a little more paint. If I can get the mess cleaned up, I'll tear down my vent windows tonight. We can do this and make it easier for the next guy!

Avatar change, Nice ! so you did need the repair kit after all. seems like with some patience, and following some guidelines the vent window thing would be simple. I just doubt it will be though. keep me updated Johnny.

Brown truck should be here today ! I post pics of all the goods !!

Have'nt dug in yet, but I'm guessing the sucky part is staking down them rivets all pretty-like with the jiffy little tool they give you. Other than that, what could be soo tough???

Re: 68' Chevy c10

So the little black rubber thing..... Best I can tell its one of them sealing boots for a bat type toggle switch???? No idea. More hints!

What else did you get? What's the carpeted piece? There's sumthin else in a blue and white baggie there on the left.

I got the visors from Classic Parts, I'm happy with 'em. the door latch control is in the b/w bag. thats lower door carpet, got it from LMC because I already had carpet from them. dash nob bezels, turn signal lever, and lower steering column bearing also from LMC. and yeah the rivet tool is a POS !

As for the black thing I can say it's 10 times bigger than a toggle switch boot.

I have to take one of my dogs to the vet this morning. his paw is real swollen around his claw. when I get back it's back to fitting the clock, and cutting tach hole. then I can get the tin painted, also the clock hands.
