Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well guys I've been at the Tx Motorplex since Wednesday evening. We made two time trials Thursday and ran first round that evening. I showed up with new slicks and was having 60ft problems. They were slow and inconsistent like it was turning the tire on the hit. The slicks usually need at least 6 or 8 passes to come in as many of you know. I survived first round that night with a crappy light against someone with a worse light. I went up for second round Friday morning and set up hot not trusting the 60ft. Well it hooked and the 60 was where I should have been. I ran one of my old buds Tony Jones. He treed me but I was so hot I caught him before the 1/8th mile and started peddling it. I rode it out and cut the stripe in by .002 I was 10.85 he was 10.88. So i was done for the first race. This is a double race weekend, they called us this morning to have a time trial behind Super Stock and it started raining. Then it rained and rained. We are supposed to go straight into first round of the second race in the morning maybe!

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
And now for the funny part! I had some luck on one thing. The old 454 emblems on my truck I bought here in 1988 at the Super Chevy race I runnered up at. I got back from round 2 and noticed something wrong. One blew off or fell off somewhere.[IMG][/IMG]

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
And now the funny part. I went down the return road and talked to one of the tech guys and told him what happened. Comp Eliminator was running at the time. I asked if I could run down and look for it. He said go ahead and while your down there say something to the safety crew. I went down there and Doug Wood one our long time Div 4 guys was there. I laughingly told him what happened and he said if anyone found it he would bring it to me. I told him if it's still worth a s*** that's cool. I was up at the starting line watching the last of the races and he rolled up on his scooter. He said I've been looking for you! He reached in his pocket and guess what he had?[IMG][/IMG]
Well damn just saw you run, that was a crappy deal for you Regan, you would have had him too. [/QUOTE
I dont know, only if he broke out. This was the longest weirdest weekend of racing I've had. Two time trials Thursday (which sucked) and first round that night. Lost second round on Friday. Almost got a time trial Saturday morning but it started raining while we were in the lanes. They dried the track but next time they call eliminations for race 2. I was .008 on the tree and set up hot. I got a gift my opponent was ..686. We were supposed to run second round on Sunday but it ended up a total wash out. Got up early Monday morning becuase we usually run early and didnt get to run second round till yesterday afternoon. I added a 2 numbers to the transbrake since I just had a .008 the day before. But bam I was -.001 red. The truck acted like it didnt want to pull all the way to 7500 either. My mph was off and I was way slow on the et. So after being at the track it boils down to this. Thursday- Two time trials and a first round win. Friday- Second round loss. Saturday- First round win Sunday- Rain Rain Rain Monday- Second round loss

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Sorry 71 I missed that post. 14x32 on the slicks. Still running the 12” wheels though. We originally did 13x31 Slicks on these wheels. Didn’t think I would go bigger on the tires than that.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
That's what I have now too, 14x32 on a 12", I'm switching to the new Hoosier 33x13, same rollout narrower sidewall, my 14's are a bit too wide for my setup.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Not much to update other than it's Tulsa Time. (I always liked that song by Don Williams).
I will be in Tulsa next week May 23rd to 26th for our next Divisional. Hope to test Thursday. I brought the truck home from the last race and re scaled it. It was way off so maybe it will be more consistent this outing. I had to get new trailer tires again on top of fixing alot of other things in the trailer. I've already serviced the truck but still have few little things to do. Maybe I can go some rounds

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well Mother Nature just ruined my plans. I should be sitting in Tulsa now but I'm home. They had a bunch of rain this week and the place was supposedly a mess. There was more rain in the forecast this weekend but now there isn't. Doesn't matter now they called it yesterday. I may try to go test somewhere not sure. All this rain has really screwed up this season so far. I'm still shooting to make a whole season but when they rescheduled this one it makes it a week after the Topeka double race I believe. If so I cant make it.
