Re: Project Topless 365/24/7
Bill, here's a pic of them. The bottom piece has the ball on it. Also here's a picture of the sticker on them which has the part number on it. I got them from O'Reilly's.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7
I picked up the part numbers Tony gave and was wondering if there is a special ball nut you guys used or is just some generic thing. My struts have the ball nut caps on both ends of the rod.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7
Tony, my body guy couldn't wait any longer and bought those before I could get him your number. However, I did call Advance and O'Reilly's and neither one could cross reference the number. No biggie though because he got these to work. He said he just guessed. The only thing with the ones that are on mine is that the hood doesn't open at full length like it would if you had springs. That doesn't bother me, but it might some. I can get my big a$$ in there to reach anything I need so it's not like it only opens 12 inches or anything.
Bill, that other number is 22808. My body guy already had a pair of those ball for the bottom piece to attach to. I don't know if you can get those from somewhere new or just hit the junkyard and grab you a pair off of another vehicle.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7
Got the sway bar in and I got some new headlights for it also. I'd forgotten that on the silver truck that the headlight buckets took a little bit of modification to work.
My mother came over and we did Christmas with her today since she was sick on Christmas Day. She got me the Disc/Disc Proportioning Valve I needed. I through it on real quick with the help with my patient(unlike me) wife.

That's probably going to be one of the last things I do. My goal is to have it ready for the big Hunter's Show here in Nashville in April.

Blazer looks awesome! I'm getting ready to throw some hot rod flatz down on my project. Any tips/tricks for the first time painter?
Looking forward to seeing the blazer finished off |

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7
Wish I could help shorty, but I didn't paint it. My painter said it went down awesome. He said it was much better then Dupont's brand of flat paints.

Re: Project Topless 365/24/7
Man that is one nice Build! What kit is that Brake Booster and Res from? Also the Prop valve. Is that a Tilt Column from a Van? If so what year and model?
I am in the Beginning stages of my truck since I just got it this week. I am trying to get some relief by adjusting the steering a little. I need to slide it down as far as I can so I can get to drive the thing comfortably. Not much leg room since I am a Big dude. Almost like sitting in a Go Kart. Anyway nice Truck man REally!! Me Likes! Last edited by 6T8&O-her-1; 01-25-2009 at 12:17 AM. |

Sweet....the black really compliments the red....did you ever make a decision on the sound system and what are you doing for the side panels and on the tailgate?

Got several ideas for the sound system, but definitely going to build some custom side panels.

When I have some extra time at work - I like to browse through the projects. You never really know what is capable for some of these trucks until you see an extensive project like this.
All I can say - is 'Nice Job'. |
