I replaced the windshield washer pump today. What a weird mechanical contraption driven off the wiper motor.

Thanks guys. Today I got the steering column back into the truck. I had to cut the connector off the new turn signal switch and change it to the connector for the AAW harness. I'm proud of my terminal ends which are usually a pain. I had to take the brakes off the firewall again to get the steering column gasket to fit. Then the brake pedal grommet would not seat on the firewall so I had to take the brakes off another time! A lesson was learned - bolt the Hydroboost to the bracket before putting both on the firewall as one unit.

I also put the cowl back on with a cowl debris screen and a new hood seal.

Lift height and tire size looks good.tuff country 2" front and 3"+1" rear with 33s correct?

Looking forward to seeing how the hydroboost works out.

Just read the whole thread. Now i want to dust off my build thread and get some work done on it!

Today was a day of frustrating setbacks.

I started bleeding the power steering fluid, and my pedal adapter bent in half right away. I guess there is a lot more leverage on that brake pedal than I thought. The money spent on it was all wasted, and I refunded the money for the one that I sold. I need a new plan for pedal linkage.

Discouraged by the brakes, I figured I would get the steering wheel back on and the horn working. I assembled the horn parts, but still no working horn. So I checked under the hood and found power at the horn all the time. So I checked the horn relay and found it was super hot to the touch! I assume that my horn is bad since it does not work with power. But I do not know why the relay sends power to the horn all the time even without the horn button assembled.

Also, my new turn signal cancel cam does not work both directions even with the new turn signal switch. I cannot figure it out.

Unplugging the column turns off the horn relay (and thus power to the horn under the hood). Maybe I damaged and grounded the horn wire while assembling the column? I suppose I will have to take it apart to find out.

is it possible that your horn button is stuck down .....

X2 on check the horn button. I've had problems with the flat round spring grounding all the time. I thought you're adapter looked good. Back to the drawing board. You'll figure it out, I have faith in you..

Sorry to hear about the pedal adapter. I've been thinking about the same issue lately and your experience, while painful, is getting me to think about much thicker stock to use. Keep at it!

I decided to just give up on making a bolt-on pedal adapter. I cut the end of the Hydroboost pushrod off and threaded it 3/8"-24. Pedal linkage solved.

I also took apart the steering column to find the wiring short. It turns out the horn contact on the signal switch was touching the signal support casting. I filed off the extra metal and now the horn isn't getting constant power. I wrapped all the wiring in some tape to better protect it.

I am fairly sure the Astrovan booster is the same as the one in that kit.

I got to take the steering wheel off again because the turn signal arm fell off. The previous owner had it held on with the wrong screw. Fixed.

After what seemed like a thousand turns lock to lock and plenty of wasted ATF puking out of the pump, I think the power steering fluid is bled. I didn't crash during a short test drive around the block. The brakes are much more responsive. I don't know what it is supposed to feel like, but it functions. I will be driving cautiously and watching the steering fluid level closely.
