Hmmm? That's a good question. I went over my punch list today. It really depends on extra cash more than anything right now. Hope to be cruising by this time next year. We'll see.

Well I'm still working on the chassis. I got the tranny xmember blasted, primered and painted (forgot pics). Next plan is to get a new gas tank not sure which one? Leaning towards a blazer tank. I wanted to make my own but kinda doubt that's going to happen now.

I finally saved up enough to buy some brake lines. I ordered a stainless kit from Inline Tube. They were highly recommended from several members. The quality is very good but the fit has been less than perfect. I'm still fighting with them. Part of the problem, my frame is from a 67 and the lines are for a 72. Here are the update pics.

I started installing the brake lines and figured out the 67 lines run behind the cross member and 72 runs in front. So I got some line mounts from a fellow board member Kyle (screaminchevypickup) Thanks again!

I welded the holes up from the rivets

Cut off the old tabs

Installed the new mounts

Still need to drill a hole in the rear crossmember and fab a mount:

Here is a picture of where I'm having issues with the lines:

Nice job! I wish that I had the patience it took to make that panhard mount, and that extension for the bar. I kinda get the job done, but it aint that pretty. I can't wait for you to stick some tins on that thing.

Keep up the good work!

Re: 1969 Short Wide

It's looking great. Those lines loook nice but also looks like they could be a PITA to get installed due to their pre-bent nature.

Thanks for the words. I have spent way too much time on this project. I am ready to start driving it. All I lack is finishing.

They are a major pain to install. But most of it is just because I have never done them. And I don't have any instructions showing where they lay or attach to the frame, axle or crossmember. When I called Inline they said "just look at where your old ones mounted" Hmm, that would be easy if I had a 72 frame with the lines but I'm converting a 67 frame to 72. If they were smart they would number all the lines and give detailed instructions.

That is pretty lame. You are right, for the money they charge the least they could do is tag them for location and orientation. Maybe a simple diagram too.

That's crazy. I'm sure they have a lot of unhappy phone calls come through their lines.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

I had a similar problem when installing my brake lines. They were for a '72 which is the hardware on the frame....but the frame itself is a '68. I wound up having to use an adapter here and there but got it all in. Couldn't use the m/c lines tho since I'm using an adjustable prop. valve.

Totally agree. Just a little instructions would have gone a long way with my feelings about the product. I won't be buying them on my next truck.....camaro Hmm? maybe

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Okay finally got all the brake lines in and mounted (thanks Kyle for the Help). I also got a new tank (thanks again to Kyle (screaminchevypickup). I ended up going with a blazer conversion tank. I wanted to build my own but I moved on. Here are the pics sorry some are blurry:
Drilled the rear crossmember for the brake line 72 style

Modified the bracket cut off the front:

Made some gas tank flange straps to spread the load on the mounting bolts:

Bolted to the xmember:

Brake lines done finally:

Thanks Steve.
I'm unsure of where I'm going to put the filler. I might run it over to the left inside of the bed or may just cap off this filler and add another that goes straight up? I haven't done much research on this yet.
