Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.

Thanks mater/10

Stealing Maggie's thunder on this one. It's a c60 grille with the "CHEVROLET" script cut from the top and modified to " float " in the grille opening. Heres a O.G. one, then what I'm doing and finally the chromed out-super dope one on Maggie's truck

Blasted the script today, hoping to get the buckets blasted and those restored tomorrow then the grill goes off for an acid dip to clean and off to chrome.

Thanks LT1Burb for the grill hook up.

I'm borrowing from Jdosher and Maggie's truck. I think borrowing others ideas is the highest compliment to them and their builds. I'm not sure who was the first guy to lower his truck, but he has a lot of followers!

Thanks MalibuKasey, I like the Avatar. If there were 2 of those it would look like the bathroom at my place. The dogs have 4 water bowls that are always cleaned and fresh, but the toilet water is like Cat water to them, just taste better?!?

The toilet is like table height to the dogs, so they don't have to stoop down to drink

All of the food and water bowls at our place are elevated...95lb Hounds and Kane Corso. We ordered them from an online pet supply with stainless bowls in a 2' tall bench. They have food and water in each one plus the additional water dishes outside ontop of 5 gal bucket-like planters.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.

grille looks great, I have one as well! did you cut the bottom of the "R" an fold it back? I like these grilles cause you can always unbolt the Chevrolet, put the bowtie back and have a different look!!

Nope, I left the tab so it would secure the center better. The vertical brace is far enough away that the script will slip in behind it. If the tab behind the "R" is gone, the center area moves quite a bit on the threaded studs that I welded to the backside. I did slot the tabs so I could position the script up or down, middle etc. for the look I want.

Do you have yours installed? Any pics of how you attached it?

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.

Different and subtle, just like Bomp likes em!

Today I brought some heavy gauge wire to a 50 amp relay and powered an ignition triggered sub panel to run the air ride, heated seats, intermittent wipers and future A/C. The stock panel was getting full and I didn't want any more melt downs.

I put the heated grids onto the foam before the covers were sewn and installed. I ran them to the relay packs and mounted those up off the carpet under the tank straps. The power wires dive under the carpet in the holes from the factory seat ( for sale in the classifieds) and up to the new fuse panel.

I mounted the seat heater switches under the corner of the bench seat on the forward frame area. Easy to get to and short harness.

Yes, they are nice and warm. Who says you can't have the comforts of a new plastic truck and KOOL of a 50 year old classic!
