Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
The truck mirrors do seem less busy, but the big stainless ones would be cool too. Tough decision.

there was a version of the chevy stainless mirrors that would extend out. might be nice for the dually fenders and higher ride height. i found these online in a few minutes. http://www.buy.com/prod/rv-motorhome...230621750.html

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
the regular pickup mirrors seem best, unless you plan on doing alot of towing

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
I'd say it depends if you want the truck's attitude to be, if you want to keep the industrial use image the larger one, if you want the daily driver image the pickup mirrors.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
My trucks generally sit up a bit taller than yours, so I usually go with the bigger mirrors to have a big truck look. I did use the smaller pickup mirrors on my 1987 Chevy ex-ambulance and I thought they looked good, with 19.5" tires and air suspension, it sits a bit lower than the others. your truck is gonna look so good it won't matter which you go.

Left my office early today and decided to prime my box sides and went a little further. Got in a bit of a hurry and mixed and sprayed some paint. I got a good starter base to work with. I still plan to do some rolling, wet sanding, cutting and buffing. Here is where I am at:

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
As for the mirror debate, think I will go with the smaller truck mirrors... However after seeing bigasstrux display, I do enjoy the others... hmm.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
My first instinct would be the stainless truck mirrors. I mean this is a big azz truck, so those go with it. After looking at it again, you have cleaned the lines up enough that the GM dumbos wouldn't look to small. They will clean things up even more I think.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
Got some color on the cab over the weekend. Everything is 90% painted. Hope to get everything re-assembled this week.
Here are a couple shots to give the idea of the size.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion
I am thinking of going with a roll pan.
Thought about of doing a molded truck bumper as well. Posted via Mobile Device
